Hoping to see quite a few youth included in these two games. I suspect we'll see a considerable amount of Tommy C as Poch decides what to do with him this summer.

A Malaysian fan group’s protest against Premier League clubs organizing lucrative friendly matches in the country appears to have been effective, with only 19,000 tickets sold for Tottenham Hotspur’s fixture on Wednesday.

The Ultras Malaya had labelled Spurs’ game against a Malaysian XI and the 24 July visit from Liverpool as “circus matches”, and expressed anger at the disruption caused to their domestic league as well as the World Cup qualifying preparations. The group had asked fans to rip up any free tickets offered and urged people to boycott the match.

The Spurs squad arrived in Malaysia on Tuesday with organizers hopeful they would be able to boost the attendance before kick-off at the 80,000-capacity Shah Alam Stadium.

The ProEvents Group chief executive officer Julian Kam told the Malaysian news agency Bernama: “I hope we will reach 30,000 by tomorrow. It will be a very entertaining game for the fans to enjoy the moments.”

However, a less-than-half-full stadium will still be an unusual sight for English clubs travelling to Malaysia. In recent years Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal have all managed to attract over 80,000 fans for friendly matches in the country.

Yet the Ultras Malaya argue they have seen little impact over the years of the money-spinning matches and have fears about the state of the national team, who dwindle at a worst ever Fifa ranking of 166th.

Kam defended the fixture and said Malaysia would benefit from the arrival of fans flocking from around the region to see the north London side. “The tourists will not just spend on the game, they will spend for the hotel, food and transportation, which is good for the country,” he said.

Hopefully we will see Fredericks, Pritchard and Onomah play some part as well as Carroll.

Just seen the video there isn't Fredericks there but KWP was there, Im guessing he was still at boro

Unfortunately I don't believe Pritchard traveled according to the squad posted here by @nicdic. Do I have that wrong? I hope so!

Agree though on the rest, really hoping to see a lot of them get run outs with the first team players. Even so, this is tremendous experience for the likes of Onomah, Winks, and KWP to be travelling with the team. Interesting Ward's been included, but none of Fredericks, Pritchard, and Alli were after their own loans.

I think that may because Ward was back with the squad earlier than the rest

Pritchard is on holiday in Dubai, obviously needs a rest after helping Brentford to the playoffs.

I'm probably missing something really obvious but what UK time does this kick off?

1:45. Ftr, look in the banner in @chrissivad's opening post in the match threads, as they always include the kickoff time in BST.

8:45 ET for those in the US who might be interested.

Generally speaking, I think loans do not end until the end of June - absent a player who can be recalled or an injury. So Fredericks, Pritchard and Alli are not eligible to play with Spurs right now.

Right, but Ward has been on a loan. If the criteria is youth loans, then Alli would also fall under the same scenario.

Not a big deal as they've all earned their breaks, and it affords more time to youth who did travel, but of course it'd have been nice to see some of those players with the first team.

Ward was not a long-term loan. He went on a short-term loan to Coventry in March - I think the restriction is on long-term loans.

Fair enough, although it's strange Alli's loan qualified as "long term" but not Ward's given the latter given it was just a month longer.

I imagine MK Dons would have wanted a long term loan as part of the deal, to protect themselves. If they had agreed to a short term loan, we could have recalled him and screwed them in there promotion bid, however long term loans can only be recalled in a transfer window and even then only if a recall clause is in the loan.

Not really true since Carroll is still a swansea player

I think its so they aren't rushed in to the squad days after finishing the season, so have been given extra time to settle

Plus its not an official competition so it doesn't matter

Sorry if its already been asked and answered elsewhere but where is Lennon? How come Tommy Carrol is in there but Lennon, Pritchard and Alli aren't?
