Everton give Tottenham their demands for Lucas Digne transfer

Tottenham are keen on Everton full-back Lucas Digne - but the Toffees want Danny Rose as part of the deal

Everton want Danny Rose and cash in any possible deal for Lucas Digne.

Tottenham are keen on Digne and boss Mauricio Pochettino is prepared to use some of their windfall from reaching the Champions League Final on Everton ’s French star.

Pochettino wanted Digne last summer when Barcelona offloaded him, but was hamstrung by his lack of transfer funds.

Everton are loathe to lose Digne after an impressive first season at Goodison Park when he scored four goals and made four assists to win their Player of the Year award.

The Blues paid Barcelona £18million for him last summer and feel his value has doubled.

They are also in a strong bargaining position because he has four years left on his Blues contract.

Digne, 25, who has replaced Leighton Baines as Everton’s No 1 left-back, is also wanted by at least two big foreign clubs.

He is back in the French squad after suffering the heartbreak of missing out on their World Cup triumph last summer and is hugely experienced, having played for some of Europe’s biggest clubs like Barca, Roma and Paris St Germain.

Everton would want England international Rose in part exchange and some cash on top to tempt them into parting with Digne.

Everton’s steep demands may be enough to ward off Spurs and also Rose is back in favour under Pochettino after a fine campaign.

Don't want to lose Rose, but Digne's been class this season and his final ball in particular in excellent.

This won't happen though.

Very impressive full back. A link i feel was inevitable at some point. Shame they dont fancy Ben Davies as part of the deal tbh, Rose and Digne is LB well and truly sorted.

If Rose wants to move back up north, Digne is a very nice option. Been impressed with him at Everton.

never going to happen certainly not this season. I must admit the lad has beeen most impressive in his 1st season in England.

Very good defensively, can deliver a decent ball and bit of a free kick specialist.

A full back who can put in decent crosses . How we can dream to have such quality. Can’t remember the last decent full back with these attributes we had at the club.

Think during the radio commentary of Spurs v Everton this was mentioned as a swap.. not new news here

Maybe Danny Rose wants a fresh start? Maybe Poch/the club think Rose could be ungraded?

Rose as first option is fine and Davies as a back up is fine either. And both are HG (Davies at least in the league)
There are other areas we need to strengthen. If we should look at anyone who can play that position it is Sessegnon.

I like Danny but his injury record and desire to move back 'oop North' mean a deal involving Digne coming the other way is very tempting. Digne is not as good as Rose defensively bit he is much more of an attacking threat and delivers a better corner than anyone we currently have in our squad.

He's a good player, but so is Danny - unless he's wanting to leave I don't really get this link.

It's RB that desperately needs addressing.

Pretty much this; not a priority for us currently and more so if RS is incoming.

Worth doing for me. Can't let emotion affect your decision, Rose isn't going to improve that much more in his time left at the club. Digne looks like he has all the qualities Poch needs in fullbacks

Both fullback positions could be strengthened, in addition to CM. And it's integral to how we play when on song, so no reason to overlook strengthening this window - we have money.

Just want to know what's wrong with signing Grimaldo...
