Rose would be the right one to move on in this. Davies is the better defender and emergency CB cover and Digne is a massive upgrade attacking wise on both

Ambivalent on this

If it happens, great, I really like him as a player. He's excellent.

On the other hand, I really like Rose, and I think some element of continuity, especially from such a passionate player, is no bad thing.

Sounds good either way

Rose as first option is fine and Davies as a back up is fine either. And both are HG (Davies at least in the league)
There are other areas we need to strengthen. If we should look at anyone who can play that position it is Sessegnon.
There are but I’d rather we took as many opportunities to upgrade when they come. It’d mean we could settle for a more defensive RB if we had to since we’d still have quality on the left

Really like Digne but Grimaldo or Telles would be my choice. Rose has been great but the end product is utter gash and should be upgraded.

I don't think it is good for a team and the whole spirit if you upgrade at once everywhere around the pitch.
All the work that is done the past years gets a bit lost when you have 5-7 new starting players.

I see the need of a new RB, I understand the interest in Sess as a long term replacement, but there is no need for a foreign LB.
We need a new CB (if Toby leaves), RB, CM x2, AM (if Eriksen leaves) and potentially a Llorente replacement + a 3rd HG keeper maybe if we dont use Whiteman.

Thats already mroe than enough to do. Seriously, we are not playing Football Manager.

Really don't see the need for a CB when we have Sanchez, Dier, Foyth and Davies all capable of standing in. They've waited for their chance and deserve a go. We also have CCV and a couple of prospects coming through the ranks.

Have a feeling we could be in trouble then if Vertonghen is injured.

Rose leaving would fit with JJ's players leaving that will be tough to take and not yet in the media. Losing Rose would be painful as he's been here so long, but Digne would be a upgrade that we may need

Rose is one of the last players I would think of changing.

Totally agree. Works his socks of for the club, is HG, not always great but basically doing a fine job and fans look at the slightest possibility of an upgrade.

And on the other side people are mad when players are not loyal to their club...

Edit: Fair play to the idea of signing Digne if Rose wants to leave.

This would make sense if we are going for AWB as well. AWB is a brilliant defensive RB but has not shown a lot in attack. If anything he likes to cut inside rather than cross the ball.

Digne on the other hand is a very good crosser of the ball and also has a wicked shot from distance. We could be going for a system where AWB stays back and nullifies any counterattacking threat on his wing while Digne is given license to go forward.

It is a risk but we'd have to spend 40-50m to get a really decent CB and I'd rather use that money better quality in more crucial areas.

I'd take him, obviously.. but surely our priorities lie elsewhere?

Digne is quality

This one is at least worth tracking. Wonder what they’d ask for - If it’s Rose + 10, I think you have to take a pretty good look at it. Rose plus 25-30 and it’s silliness.

I like Danny a ton, and we do have to watch our HG #s, but his end product is pretty poor, he’s turning 29, and he’s just missed a year+ due to injury.

Aren’t we going to have problems with our home grown quota
The club know what they're doing. They're not going to leave us short on HG and U21 players.

Recruiting 2 x U21 players could be key, but I really wouldn't be worried about not having enough HG players.

You can't enter a competition if your team isn't compliant. (Or you're disqualified if you do mess it up and field inelligible players - but how often does that happen...)

I suspect we'll recruit one or two HG players anyway.
