In his appearance at the Oxford Union, Alan made some interesting comments about Spurs.

There’s only one interesting bit on Spurs at about 17 mins. I wish someone would have asked if he regretted selling the club for £50m now it’s worth circa £1.5 bn ?

He saved us from oblivion IIRC for which im grateful....and basically he tells the Gooner (asking the stadium question) that the money will be there for players regardless AND that the cost of the stadium was an excuse for Wenger! Thought he spoke well about our club myself.....

I interviewed Sugar once. Mentioned I was a Spurs fan in small talk at start and he had no interest, then later went in at length at how much he disliked the average football fan, called them all boneheads and said he was well glad to be out of it

I prefer him now he’s not our chairman. He may have saved us from going out of business but he did that for his benefit ultimately and he basically had no idea how to run a football club. You only need to have endured his tenure or look back at it now to see it was a terrible time for the club. We declined so much under him.

As much as the current owners are also in it for themselves and have made lots of mistakes they been playing catch up for his mischairmanship for years and years.

Like the man.
Did good and bad for Spurs.

Working class East End Jewish boy.
Self made billionaire.
What's not to like.
Unlike Trump didn't start
with a 1 million from his dad
(1960 prices)
and didn't go bankrupt 4 times

Bit of a prat in 'The Apprentice'
but that's as much TV exposure as himself.
Speaks well of current Spurs approach
and Pochettino in particular.

Married to same woman for nearly 50 years.
Takes some doing
Trust me.
I'll forgive him anyway.

His business model at Amstrad was to make cheap crap with cheap components that looked good on the outside but had no substance. He then flogged it to gullible people. He tried the same thing at Spurs and failed miserably. I really don't know how he is so revered. He's a greedy, obnoxious shyster who exploited poorer people.

I worked for Amstrad a long time ago, he's a monumental wanker, but he's the wanker who saved our club out of his own pocket and it sucks having to say that.

I'm happy to ignore him but I can't hate him.
