“I have no offers from any club in Spain or anywhere else and I will continue at Tottenham where I have one more year of contract," he said.

Great news, World Cup winners aren't ten a penny, his experience around the training ground should be invaluable to our young players.

I wish nothing but the best for him. Hopefully he moves on this summer once some offers come in for him. It is too bad it didn't work out for him, but I think it is really difficult to back up Kane no matter how experienced the player is.

Personally, I would like to see if one of our academy/developmental strikers such as Sterling (or even Griffiths once we see how he does playing with the U23s) could eventually fill the role as backup striker. I realize neither player mentioned is probably ready for that kind of role, but maybe allowing Sterling to train with the first team and go on the preseason tour would let Poch assess him as well as get him some first team minutes? At this point just about anything sounds better than buying another Soldado, N'Jie, Janssen, or Llorente.

we look like that we don't know how to play with a target man (janssen & llorente), we just can't expect them to be as influential as kane on the pitch

Oh how I wanted this guy back in those bad old days when we couldn’t get a striker for love nor money. We’re so spoilt with Kane

I'd sooner we had Janssen back and let him go somewhere he was happy to go to for free but if he wants to stay he should be treated well.

Much prefer we suffered a bit financially than to hear we treated a good pro poorly.

Maybe send Llorente on loan to Fernebache (sp) and bring Janssen back from there? Costs us nothing and we get to give Janssen a full preseason and see how he gets on.

Edit: Seems they want N'Koudou instead

the funny thing is those kids will go on tour and if still with us so will Llorente. the pre-season, plus 3 friendlies could be what he needs as he never really played that many games consecutive, with a proper pre-season last season. as I very much doubt Kane will be on tour, and nor will Sonny, he is coming home early from that and will then be preparing for the Asia Cup

Wish we would cross the ball more when he's on the field. Has he scored a header for us?

Excellent point, Llorente never really found his footing with us and the preseason could be a good opportunity for him to get consecutive matches (if still with us).
It will really be interesting to see what happens with Llorente and the kids as well as what happens in the transfer market (as far as finding a capable backup for Kane).

Maybe we should play Llorente for the whole of August, since Harry never scores then anyway. :cautious:
