We released them. These things happens all the time, clubs take punts at other clubs released young players.

No doubt this will be due to Alex Inglethorpes influence who would have worked with them whilst he was with us. Surprised we let Stewart go as most reports said he had a big future, but I should not be surprised at anything at Spurs after all these years!.

Seems like a more speculative punt than most. Obviously Alex Inglethorpe knows them from his time at Spurs, but at 20 years old (I think) both are already of an age where you would expect Spurs' assessment of them to be reasonably accurate.

Yes, I'm not one to say a young player has to do such and such by this age (not everyone is a Michael Owen after all) to be considered a worthy prospect but at 20, neither have even come close to sniffing first team action have they? Not even in the League Cup.

You'd hope they'd be pushing at the fringes now and then if they do have something about them.

Can't be any good or Master Tim would have had them playing in our first team..

I think it is fair to say that Tim did a reasonable job of sifting the development squad wheat from chaff before he left; those who have a future got blooded, and those who didn't got released.*

*Okay there is Obika, but I can only assume he has compromising snaps of Tim wearing an Arsenal shirt while sticking pins into a crucified effigy of Andre Villas Boas.**

**There will be some on here who believe this.

It also depends upon other young players we rate as wanting to keep or bring through. A club can only have x number of players in a sensible plan. Can't play and develop them all.
