Seems like a perfect levy signing. Home grown, potential for Pochettino to work with whilst young enough for his value to continue to rise with regards to resale value.
If the manager feels it works for him then it works for me. That said, we need an established CM brought in to provide that quality that isn't there at present - I still dream of Luka.....I'm such an idiot!

you might've had it on totals, not per 90? I don't see anything standout?

They're the kind of stats you'd look at for an attacking mid. I don't think you should be judging a central mid, often a deep central mid on chances created or assists.

I've just done an Opta comparison of Kovacic, Cook & Winks. Cook smashes it on both of them, even when I look at the amount of minutes all three have played. Not sure how to share I would if I could.

I think he's underrated because he plays for Bournemouth and because his name is Lewis Cook. He'd be someone I wouldn't mind coming in and is only 21

Lewis Cookavic is a much better player

As with every Levy purchase money will be the key here. Well run prem teams like Bournemouth don’t snap your hand off for £30m anymore. They will have seen Villa demanding £40m for Grealish and may well think Cook worth more. We can only hope they have purchases of their own lined up that this sale would fund. #hardtobehopeful

I don't think many people have seen this lad play much. Some will have. But not many.

From the limited amount I've watched him and heard about him I think it could be a sound acquisition.

Just hope we aren't compromising too much on bringing in a WF.

He will be a sound player and he's young and has scope for improvement, I would also prefer him starting in CM than Sissoko or a pair of Dier with Wanyama.

I just thought we'd be aiming, and committing, even higher this window..y'know..?

One for the future but we still need a much better CM as well.

I've no idea whether Eddie Howe wants or needs to sell (Bournemouth do obviously have a wealthy owner) but on the face of it, this does make sense and it's not hard to see Levy being willing to spend 30 million as he ticks the boxes of being English and young enough to have sell on value. I'm not trying to contrive a scenario where this would be the signing that we all hoped for (although I'm not totally pessimistic about it) but unless we get ITK to demolish it then it looks like a realistic signing.

Not really sure there is a need to spend about £30-40m to get him when we have our lord and saviour, Oliver Skipp

Skipp looks a real prospect but theres at least 2-3 years until he is ready to get games in pl.

Guess who played alongside him in that England U20 midfield? We wouldn't even have to pay a fee for him. Shows what a waste that Villa loan might have been.
And Josh was probably the standout player at the time too in comparison.

Unless the player doesn’t want to come of course?

There seems to be an assumption that he’d love to join us.

Exactly. Weirdly Onomah fits the type of central midfielder Poch prefers over Cook too. Poch seems to love a bit of size, strength and physicality in midfield over guile and technical ability in terms of passing etc. That’s one of the things making me doubt we’d be in for him unless Poch has (at last) moved away from the idea that central midfielders have to be brick shithouses.

Of course but players don't move clubs anymore if they don't want to - that's a given really. I'm working on the premise that he would fancy the chance of a move.

Would love to see Lewis come to Spurs, great work ethic, can see a pass, instinct is to go forward rather than back. Seems like an ideal Poch signing.

Biggest concern would be we buy and then don’t play which stalls his development.

Yes or stalls Winks development.
