A good arsenal supporting friend of mine once said to me, "I would rather we were the shittest run club in the league, but would rfather we won the league". There is a grain of truth in that. As a fan, I just want us to be successful.
Doesn't make any sense though, the shittest run clubs in the league tend to be fighting relegation.
Your mate talks out of his arse.

Devils advocate. Knock down the West Stand. Make capacity 50K. More money to spend on the pitch.

Or best stadium in the country but a team making the Top 6 of relatively low investment ?

The first sentence illustrates why drinking at lunchtime is rarely a good idea. The quote is just mental. Look at Sunderland. By most metrics, the worst managed club in the Premier League by some distance. They never came close to a title challenge iirc.

That's a pretty good analogy. When Sunderland built the Stadium of Light and had a credible team managed by Peter Reid (i.e. before it all went tits up for him), their fans genuinely thought that they were the most progressive and best managed club in the North East. Their fans inevitably developed a sense of entitlement, and the club's owners thought that "investment" in the playing staff would inevitably bring progress. The subsequent developments were all too predictable, but that's not how it seemed at the time, particularly to their supporters. (Just to make the point that we're not picking on Sunderland, you could substitute Leeds United, Aston Villa, most clubs that have employed Big Sam or Tony Pulis and, hopefully, Leicester City!)

Preemptive bump for 23:01.

I mentioned this before and it’s meant with sincerity but if people really don’t like the way the owners run the club why do you do nothing about it?

And what do we do about it?
Well I’m happy with the current ownership but the only thing that will make ENIC interested would be giving them what they want, a large return on their investment.

That basically means that the fans would need to put there money where their mouths are.

I gather the hot tips about transfers didn't amount to much?

Good job most of us obeyed the rules and didn’t get banned from the no transfers forum. The best course of action was not to post on it since all us unqualified ITK’s knew Levy had no intention of sanctioning any acquisitions. A different kind of ITK Great job by Poch pretending he didn’t want anyone.

How about being the ****est run club in the league and not winning the league ? How is your gooner friend enjoying that. I’m loving it.

Time to upset some people. OK so its pinch of salt , and oversimplification time. But.....

Comparing last years revenue to the 2019 one, when you compare it to the other clubs is a serious increase, and we havent moved into the new stadium.
Next year with that type of growth we should overhaul Arsenal, and be fairly neck and neck with Chelsea. On that basis i'm happy for Levy and friends to keep going in the direction they are.

More growth = bigger wages = small chance of some better players.

I can see where this train of thought comes from, but the grass is not always greener. Your Gooner supporting mate probably thinks that's what he wants but when Arsenal get relegated for financial twattery and are the laughing stock of the entire league, I bet that 1 league title doesn't look so shiny. Especially if they're still down there 10 years later like Leeds.

Ironically, this slow, painful burn is exactly what WILL allow us to make big signings in the future. The stadium will be a big selling point, the extra ticket money will fill our pockets, and when ENIC do eventually sell up, we're far more likely to be bought by someone with big ambitions rather than a chancer like Mike Ashley.
