Will be interesting to see if they are really after Aubemeyang to replace Lukaku.

Ben Yedder has also been reported, a bit left field imo.

Solskjaer sounds like he has the world's most boring PR permanently implanted into his brain. "I'm delighted that Marcus has signed the deal as he is one of the best players in the history of the world and perfectly attuned to The Manchester United Way blah blah blah..." Zzzzzzz.

His agent has played a blinder getting that deal for him...
Rashford is a good player, but not good enough to earn that sort of money.
It's pure "one of our own" desperation. He is, at least until Greenwood comes through, the one academy product the fans are in any way proud of (I don't believe for a second that anyone is proud of Lingard, except maybe his parents). He and his agent hesitated at signing a deal so United threw everything they had at them because he's one they "have" to keep at all costs.

Nail on head.

New deal for Rashford until 2023 with option for a further year, worth roughly £250k a week. Up to £300k including bonuses.

Mental.

Just madness. I swear they only pay these average players that much to fuck teams like us over.

Mind boggling amount of money for a player who hasn't even scored over 15 league goals in a season. That puts him on a par with the likes of Kane and Salah, De Bruyne etc

Mental. It's quite easy to see why United are in a mess. Handing out massive contracts to players who aren't worth it.

Between Rashford and Martial, that is nearly half a million a week in wages.

They put themselves in a very deep hole.

Signing the likes of Sanchez, Pogba and Ibra on astronomical wages meant that anyone outperforming these players was going to get irritated. Because they realise the home grown players are the heartbeat of the team they know they have to put these players on paltry salary to keep some form of harmony, when in reality they really don't deserve it.

In comparison we've been much smarter. We've never paid astronomical salaries for players so once Kane became our top performer and home grown star we were in a position to put him in the top category without it being undeserved whilst making others at the club realise the standard and benchmark.

At United you just have to be a half important player, have a strop and then you get a salary increase.

Whilst Mourinho got a lot wrong at United, the Martial saga was a disgrace. Instead of stating that the player is going nowhere they should have backed Mourinho and got rid of anyone not willing to work for him. Instead they made it clear the players were more important and this transcends to the rest of the squad.

Just absolute insanity. They’re a shambles, not before time.

SSN...Manchester United make increased £70 million bid for Leicester defender Harry Maguire.

Putting together a fine defence if they manage to snaffle him also.

Yeah but £120m for AWB and Maguire what the fuck.

Crazy money. Although it appears the Maguire bid has been rebuffed.

Manchester evening news amongst others are mentioning United being interested in Lo Celso once more.

I thought they were all about Fernandes, although I did see Liverpool mentioned as potential front runners the other day.

Anyways, you know the media, most probably a pack of bullshit, but I think one thing is for sure, Leicester want crazy money for Maguire, and the £90 million  I saw mentioned the other day might actually be the figure.

Ridiculous but I suppose he's an England international, "home grown", and on a long contract so Leicester have no real reason to sell. I suspect the 90m quoted is very much in the "Not unless you make us an offer we can't refuse" category.

May have a good defence if they get him but their midfield minus Herrera is still looking dodge.

Let me see. NDombele for 53 million or AWB for 50 million or Maguire for at least 70 million. Wonder who is better at negotiating a deal ?

I would partly put this down to the PL being so flush with cash now that the smaller clubs rarely need to sell to balance the books, so they can demand crazy sums for their better players. But then United are fools for paying those sums instead of looking elsewhere.

It also doesn't help that Woodward and/or the powers that be at Man Utd put out press releases at the start of every transfer window telling everyone how much money they've got and how they're determined to spend it :ROFLMAO: They never seem to learn. It's funny how someone who is clearly an astute businessman can be so useless at even the basic side of running a football club.
