Let's All Laugh At... Let's all wonder what's going on at United?

They have enough money coming in to be able to ride it out though. I think your point is valid if they missed out on europe for 3 or 4 seasons running because obviously then the commercial deals etc. would start to shrink due to reduced exposure etc. But they make such vast amounts of money through FFP-compliant means, and they have more than enough credit in the bank in terms of reputation as a club to ride it out without it being much of an issue IMO

I think that's part of my point though, without European football next season they'd more likely be 'riding it out' than moving forward. Which to be fair they could do with, but you've obviously got to think they'd much prefer/be better off with some level of European football to offer next season. Would certainly add a least some element of doubt into some of the players/managers they go for. Maybe not enough to stop it but enough to make it not as straightforward as it could be.

This is how I'd break down the squad differences for the forward/creative players in both teams... We're so far ahead of them. I'm sure some people would disagree on Pogba and being world class, as he certainly came with the price tag. But Juve haven't really missed him and he's pretty one dimensional in where and how he needs to played. Kane and Eriksen you could play wherever the hell you wanted them to and they'd effect the game, they are freaks. And Dele in the next few years I think will push into the top bracket.

World Class Players
Kane,
Eriksen

Superstars
Pogba, Sanchez, Dele, Son

Great Players
Lukaku, Lamela, Moura, Rashford, Linguard, Mata, Martial

I know Poch gets the plaudits but in general it's crazy how all the work that's been done at Tottenham over the last 10 years has lead us to this point. I honestly never thought I'd see it.

Do you not rate defenders?

and seriously, I take it Sissoko is in a bracket by his own above WCP.

I was just doing the forward/creative players as it becomes a lot less of a debate IMO. We're miles ahead of them in defence and centre mid probably about the same.

What constitutes a world class centre back, full back and goal keeper is a lot harder to judge IMO as it's more about the collective. Toby and Jan I'd say are world class but would they be with shit around them. Also Toby and Jan as pairing is massive, when they play / played together it was something on another level. How do you factor that in. You have full backs who are considered world class by playing at world class teams but they can't actually defend that well and are more about going forward. Trippier is one of the best crosses of the ball I've ever seen at spurs yet because of his pace he's likely to get rinsed by anyone with pace defensively... It just gets hard to judge.

Sissoko, I don't even know what to say about him. He's been amazing but for less than 2 months and before that was probably our weakest link.

Surely that can't be true? It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
It's only IF Solskjær does well enough for them to give it to him permanently.

But he'll probably have to win CL and get them top four for it to happen.

Mmm...:confused::confused:

United appoint a former player in Solskaer

They've missed a feckin trick here.

Former United player, not currently managing a club, very intelligent and well spoken. Volumes of English football knowledge.

Should have been a no-brainer. ;)

OGS is clearly a choice to try and keep Pogba happy. He used to coach Pogba in their youth set-up. By choosing a coach with a poor CV but a good relationship with Pogba they’ve basically abandoned their season in favour of keeping a player happy. Any manager going there needs to understand that the club may protect its assets (players) rather than back the manager.

If there’s one team and set of fans, apart from our obvious rivals, I’d like to see go through decades of torment it’s them. I guess being in uni halls with a Man Utd fan from Exeter, in the late 90s, would do that to a person!

I’ve been to Old Trafford too and it’s shit. Their stadium won’t be able to rival ours once it’s built.

Have any of the United players publicly thanked Mourinho for the work he did there? You usually get quite a few players saying how disappointed they are after a manager leaves.

Sanchez' unique way of saying thank you...

Man Utd’s Alexis Sanchez bet £20k with Marcos Rojo that Jose Mourinho would be fired then told team-mates ‘See, I told you to be patient’

He's got some fucking nerve given how little he's contributed to the club since arriving. Mourinho may not have been a success in the end, but he still did 100X more than Sanchez has done for Man Utd.

Sanchez is no longer in the "Superstar" category. He is a shell of his former self - and would only be a fit in a system where he was the only focal point in attack.

If Poch did go he'd have to sack half the players for being twats by the sound of things, some real pieces of work they've got over there... Best to stay here Poch. Let them wallow in the swamp they've created.

You gotta doubt the sincerity of a guy who backs up his assertion of 'FALSE !!!' with 'We are a truly United team', meaning we are MANCHESTER UNITED rather than a united bunch of hard working, decent footballers. I don't think Poch will be going to OT simply because I can imagine what an anathema it would be for him to have to work with so many prima donnas.
