He was riding on the wave of uncertainty, interesting that they'd do this on the back of a couple of dodgy results.
They're going to kick themselves if it was all proved to be new manager bounce and they've gone into a free fall :sneaky:

Come on Watford on Sat.. really pile the pressure on!!!

I think he will do ok for now, they will back him like they’ve backed the last three managers, until a point. I actually think he’s the right appointment, the fans are on side there for the first time in ages and they seem to be playing the kind of football that United are known for.

I'm just glad, I can go back to wholeheartedly wanting Utd to do shite most weeks. Rather than worrying about them doing just well enough to get OGS the permanent job.

Excellent news! Although I don't think Ole will last long there in my opinion.

Agree. It's a tricky situation because morale is so good there at the moment it would've been politically a bit of a disaster to not give him the job, but long term Poch is clearly by far and away the better candidate for the job. OGS was perfect for what they needed at the time, but I don't personally think he's got what it takes to rebuild the club back to how it was under SAF.

A long article but interesting which details Solskjaer and Man Utd involvement with a Norwegian agent going back years.

Solskjaer isn’t the innocent man he comes across as if you read this. A long way from it and I think him getting the initial appointment must have been Ferguson’s doing.

Solskjær himself now refuses to speak to any TV 2 Norway or Josimar journalist who worked on exposing any of the cases written about in that article. As PL rights holders TV 2 are treading very carefully here, because sending the wrong person to interview him would cause a backlash from both himself, United and their fans, who make up 40-45% of total PL fans in Norway so a huge part of the customer base.

But as the article shows, whether Solbakken and Solskjær had the law on their side or not when Cardiff signed their players, it was both extremely risky and extremely ****ish behaviour on their part. And although I'd argue that one of the signings, Møller Dæhli, could've been a good PL player if injuries hadn't got the better of him, the two others were even dodgier deals because neither have even been close to PL level.

Is it me or is three years a relatively short contract. It hardly screams we have faith in you. More, it would be embarrassing to get someone else in now, so we’re extending your trial and if it comes unstuck it won’t be expensive to get rid of you.

They basically gave him the minimum they could without looking too conspicuous.
