With Rondon I look at him and think he has it all and he is a complete bustling hustling footballer but then sometimes I think something is not quite right. From the sublime to the ridiculous.

I know what you mean. He's not really prolific enough to be your main striker if you want to be challenging, but he's good enough for mid-table teams and he'd be a decent squad option for us.

That's brilliant.

But as a side-note...why the fuck is Brighton a Cat B game? To me that's got to be one of the least attractive fixtures of the season so that should be a Cat C surely?
Boxing day fixture. Always high demand

Depends on what the clause was, could have just been 20% of the fee, percentage of profit only really makes sense with younger players whose value may increase a lot.

I've never heard of a deal that had a percentage of fee clause, only percentage of profit.

Ah fair play. Didn't realise it's on Boxing Day. That explains it. Somewhat misrepresented in the article then as if it was just a normal day Brighton would be Cat C I'm almost certain.

I love the fact we've downgraded their cup final. They seem to try and levy that accusation at us that it's our cup final coz they've got no rival to play against (come on millwall) yet we've downgraded our home match against them, bubble blowing spunk trenches

Lol why on earth did they bother giving him that contract back in January??

I mean the obvious reason is they’re incompetent but I still can’t get my head behind the logic!

Let's be honest, as much as we make fun of West Ham, they're still a much more attractive proposition than any Chinese club if you take money out of it, so moving to China was always purely about the money for him. I guess their logic was that if they give him more money, he'd no longer be tempted to leave for China and they could keep him, which worked. The problem is China has just come back with even more money that West Ham are not prepared to match. The logic behind it is fine IMO, it just didn't work for as long as they anticipated.

Rondon would be a good signing and available for a decent fee due to his release clause. He'd be a good option for us as a Llorente replacement if he was happy to come in as Kanes back-up.

I used to think this, but then I watched a few more Newcastle games, he's turd. He might be able to bully the odd defender, but that's it, no vision, no pace, can't pass and certainly can't finish. I'd rather have Janssen

I don't know, the training facilities are probably better too.

Now I am pretty sure West Ham was in for Rondon... cause the latest rumours are that he too is considering picking China over playing for west ham. :hilarious:

You cant make this stuff up! No one wants west ham.

I hope Valencia gets maxi. They are in Europe next season right?

Fair play to David Gold. He was there for the kid's first day at school and he's there again for his prom.
