Agreed.

Surely only a complete idiot would want to move East to a no-mark club with no history purely for money.

Mind you, I said the same when he left Stoke for West Ham.

Bad form to quote one's own post, but it's just been pointed out to me by the BBC, of all people, that West Ham do have history. Why they've even set records in some competitions...

Marko Arnautovic’s agent tells talkSPORT West Ham star wants to leave club for Chinese Super League

“West Ham bought Marko for peanuts. They paid £20m for him, which is nothing in the current market,” read the statement.

“They bought him to keep them in the Premier League last season and he did that. He took every award at the club; best player, signing of the season and the players’ award.

“Now West Ham have a fantastic offer. It is close to double what they paid for him.

“He wants to go to a new market and challenge for titles. This is what he wants.

“It is his great desire that West Ham accept the offer from China.”

“He knows the West Ham fans love him and he has a special connection with them, but things move on, this is the world of sport, and he hopes they can understand.

“Marko is professional and is preparing himself for the Arsenal game. He will give 100 per cent for West Ham. That is Marko. He will never change.

Cue a red card saturday and a fortnight off to finalise the move. KUMB in meltdown, again.......

Come on Arnie, take a leaf from Payets book and royally f**k them up. Go on strike, lock up the training ground, and hide Andy Carrols BUPA clubcard. We need to make this happen.

Giving the wording of Arnautovic’s agent's statement, I wouldn't be surprised if this one got a little bit nasty if West Ham don't accept the offer.

It's the "he wants to challenge for titles" line from the agent that makes me chuckle.
There's so much prestige in winning the Chinese Premier League right?!?
He may as well go and join Portsmouth and challenge for the League One title!

A little honesty wouldn't go amiss - he wants big bucks, that's all there is to it.

So is Arnautovic just wanting a pay rise. Can't seriously be desperate to "challenge for honours" in China, can he?!!

Didn't he also say (when utd wanted him in the summer) that he wanted CL football!

It reminds be of Modric wanting to join Chelsea...dismissing his club in such a way.

Except Chelsea were winning league titles...the Chinese league doesn't quite hold the same attraction.

First Parker, then Payet...now this...

I'd feel sorry for them...if they weren't the most odious group of fans I have had the displeasure of knowing.
