They are indeed lucky to have such a high capacity stadium. It must mean that they make a lot more money than they were making previously? Although their gate receipts only increased by roughly £1.7m despite doubling their capacity and were still £16M behind our old WHL totals. Strange huh?

The tickets are cheap and there are BOGOF and family deals. They rely on Sky money.

I was sort laughing at their new academy which opened this week at a cost of £4 million.

That's a year's wages for Snodgrass or 15 months of Andy Carroll's wages/sick pay

They're a complete joke. They may well sell double the number of tickets they used to before but that's only after they've halfed the price of them. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for having cheaper tickets for fans, but they can't then act like billy big bollocks who've got more fans than they know what to do with when they're having to basically give away tickets to make sure the stadium isn't embarrassingly empty.

Yeah, it's obviously not a bad thing to offer cheap tickets, but I'm sure we could sell double the amount of tickets if we halved the price.

They are like those desperate looking blokes selling split team scarves at knockdown prices at the end of every game at Wembley!.

I had this conversation years ago with West Ham fans at work claiming they would now be joining the big boys due to gate receipts. “You only sell out Upton Park with kids for a quid and £10 adult tickets so you’d need a capacity of 200k to join the big boys” ?

The Suns football writers ranked all PL grounds, from worst to best:

20. WEST HAM - London Stadium (4.92/10)
BRINGING up the rear, it's West Ham's new home - the London Stadium.

The only stadium to score under five out of ten, Paul Jiggins calls it "the worst example of football gentrification."

He continues: "The London Stadium has ripped the soul out of one of football's most vibrant clubs."

19. CRYSTAL PALACE - Selhurst Park (5)
SOMEHOW, Selhurst Park picked up a one out of ten from one reporter and STILLdidn't finish last.

There's not much love for the South London stadium with SunSport reporters though, achieving exactly 50 per cent.

But Martin Lipton did claim the "belting atmosphere makes up for other limitations".

Charlie Wyett though said: "A new stand is planned but whole ground needs knocking down."

West Ham's London Stadium comes in dead-last in the list

18. BOURNEMOUTH - Vitality Stadium (5.11)
IN the final relegation spot, it's the Cherries' south coast home.

Scoring fives almost across the board our reporters clearly aren't thrilled with the Vitality Stadium.

16. WATFORD - Vicarage Road (5.5)
NARROWLY avoiding the bottom three are the Hornets, with a very average 5.5 out of ten.

On Watford's home, Lipton claims it "still feels slightly off the pace" despite recent renovations.

16. BURNLEY - Turf Moor (5.5)
"PROPER old-fashioned ground and great atmosphere, but feels dated" - that could be one of any of our reporters.

Despite its evidently out of touch feel, there was still a fair bit of love for Turf Moor - not enough for it to be higher than equal-15th though.

15. HUDDERSFIELD - John Smith's Stadium (5.91)
REUTERS
7
Huddersfield fared better in this league table than the Prem...
THE only other club to score less than an average of six out of ten, it's the Kirklees Stadium.

However, the Terriers' stadium is the least of their worries, as they've already been relegated to the Championship after a dreadful season.

14. SOUTHAMPTON - St Mary's Stadium (6.08)
SOLID if unspectacular, it's Southampton - and we're not talking about the football.

In fact, one reporter claims it "does what it says on the tin, but not exactly memorable". Indeed.

13. CARDIFF - Cardiff City Stadium (6.2)
"HUGE improvement on Ninian Park and it works for the Bluebirds" - high praise indeed.

In a far cry from their on-pitch form, Cardiff rank fairly highly in the SunSport reporters' ranks in 13th.

12. EVERTON - Goodison Park (6.33)
PA:pRESS ASSOCIATION

Goodison Park ranked lower than expected in our definitive ranking
WITH an atmosphere as good as the Merseysiders, it's almost a surprise to see them miss out on the top ten.

However, some described it as "past its best" and claimed there's "little wonder they're looking for a new home".

Average at best, then...

11. WOLVES - Molineux (6.64)
ROB MAUL described the city-centre ground as "a proper old-fashioned stadium" - and that is certainly a compliment.

Wolves' home has a rustic charm to it and scored highly at 6.64 out of ten - with Lipton adding: "It's great to see a team that is worthy of the heritage too."

Dean Scoggins
David Coverdale
Paul Jiggins

Mark Irwin
Rob Maul
Dan King

Andrew Dillon

10. LEICESTER - King Power Stadium (6.67)
WHO could ever forget those famous afternoons in 2015-16 when the King Power stands were rocking as they surged towards the most unlikely of league titles?

Scoring a solid 6.67, one reporter claimed: "Filbert Street is only a memory now."

9. FULHAM - Craven Cottage (6.75)
PA:EMPICS SPORT
7
The old school Craven Cottage scored highly amongst SunSport reporters
CRAVEN COTTAGE scored highly with our reporters - with plenty of compliments for the West London ground.

Andrew Dillon claimed it's the "most traditional ground in London" and "close to the pitch".

However, Maul suggested the "corporate facilities are outdated" but said it would be "difficult to modernise given its geography".

8. BRIGHTON - Amex Stadium (6.9)
GREAT ground, average atmosphere - that appears to be SunSport's consensus.

While the stadium obtained high marks, it does seem to lack a spark amongst the fans to break into the top six.

7. CHELSEA - Stamford Bridge (6.92)
THE Blues need a new home in order to compete with the rest of the big boys, say our reporters.

One claimed Stamford Bridge "needs an upgrade to compete with other London rivals".

With Spurs' new home now open, you can't argue with that logic...

6. ARSENAL - Emirates Stadium (7.08)
PA:EMPICS SPORT
7
The Emirates Stadium could only struggle into sixth place on our list
IMPRESSIVE when full, but the atmosphere is often lacking in their current home.

The Emirates "cannot compare to glory of Highbury", claims Lipton - and it's hard to disagree.

5. MAN CITY - Etihad Stadium (7.09)
THE "complex is magnificent" and the score reflects that, averaging an impressive 7.09.

However, the glory stretches further than the stadium itself, with the rest of the Etihad campus absolutely fantastic.

4. LIVERPOOL - Anfield (7.36)
BREAKING into the top four is one of the world's most iconic stadiums - Anfield.

The Reds' home picked up a hatful of nine out of tens, but had to settle for an average of 7.36 - with its main stand rebuild helping that sky-high figure.

=2. MAN UTD - Old Trafford (7.83)
"FORGET Spurs, this is the best in the world!", says Phil Thomas.

But apparently the rest of the team don't agree as Old Trafford is forced to share second-place with Newcastle.

=2. NEWCASTLE - St James' Park (7.83)
PA:pRESS ASSOCIATION
7
Newcastle make it to the No2 in our list with its incredible atmosphere
ICONIC, dramatic, passionate... there are a million adjectives you can use to describe St James' Park.

David Coverdale claims: "This 'cathedral on the hill' dominates the city skyline like no other stadium in England.

"There is a sense of theatre every time you enter this arena.

"The atmosphere can intimidate opponents - or the home side, on the occasions when the Toon Army gets on their back."

1. TOTTENHAM - Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (9.33)
WHO else? It may have cost a whopping £1billion - but SunSport reporters reckon that's money well spent.

Wyett described the new ground as "out of this world", while Lipton called it "outstanding" and "intimate".

Despite describing it as "amazing", Maul did confirm many suspicions that "transport links will struggle".

Scored a host of ten out of tens though - worthy and comfortable winners...

I saw an article earlier today that the London Stadium is hosting athletics in the summer and it might delay WHUL's start to the new season because it takes 15 days to rejig all the facilities.

That happened a few years ago, they had to play a couple of matches away from home at the beginning if I recall.

West Ham fans seem to think it's unfair that our stadium is better. They spent £15M. We spend approaching a billion. They are v lucky to have anything

Every time West Ham play at home it costs the taxpayer another €250,000.

But Lady Brady can justify this by saying it isn't West Ham's fault that the costs are too high.
