Caught a bit of that, I normally don't listen to Jim White, but Groves was proper mental, I wish it had gone on a bit longer as I was sure he was going to completely freak out. What an absolute tool

Dave Kitson was guesting on the sports bar in the week, sounds a very knowledgeable chap. They did a good bit on depression in football.

Has it ever been disclosed that he is the secret footballer, or are people still guessing and concluding it's him ?

AFAIK it's never been officially disclosed but it's generally accepted that it's him. There are people who've done checklists and all that and basically he's the only person for whom all of the details in the articles apply. It's one of those things I suppose where the more specific details they published the more people you could rule out and eventually they revealed enough that he was the only one left on the list of possibilities.

Yeah I've seen those checklists, far too many people with too much time on their hands lol... Think it was the trip to Denmark as a kid and the valencia tackle that did it.

Jim White is the absolute master of finding a cause that he has practically no understanding of, championing this new outrage and talking like he's William Wallace and somehow still end up cheapening the entire debate.

He gets a really valuable call from a young keeper at Ebbsfleet and he's here talking like he's just discovered racism exists, "WE MUST DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! WE NEED TO! YOU KNOW THAT, DON'T YOU?"

Yes, Jim. We have been, for many years now. The guy you're talking to has experienced it first hand, you have not, he definitely knows that that's why he called you, you plum. I can turn it off in my own car but i'm not driving so it'd be rude to not just sit here insulting this doofus.

Ah, jesus - he just said - "Is it time to stamp out all abuse in football?" YES, JIM!! STOP ASKING! :D

Unless I'm wrong. I expect he'll get Perry Groves up next to defend it.

Love the way he's now the self appointed saviour of English football...sitting up on his cloud of judgement handing down life lessons to everyone.

Ive said it before and I'll say it again...I'd happily throw the **** off a bridge.

Absolute class from Durham, my respect for him just went up a huge notch.

Yeah I heard this the other day and couldn't disagree with a word he said, in fact he's been saying this re: Sterling for quite a while now.
The problem with him I find is when he's being a serious presenter, talking about serious subjects, he's actually very good and well worth a listen...but Ive got a tenner that says his response to us qualifying last night will be 'So what?'...the daft turnip.

Well he's a troll and clearly on the wind up just to get people to phone in as that's his job so when he does that I don't listen to him but I didn't know he held these views about Sterling and racism in general which really surprised me.

Have been laughing at TS2 this morning, Matt Scott the gooner journo who for the life of him can't shed any praise on our result last night. He's been spouting the same old shit like "we didn't beat Barcelona, it was Barcelona B, etc,etc " The fella is so bitter it's just so god damn funny! Inpartial, my old hairy arse!

That guy is such a tit.

Yet Arsenal have been allegedly "playing the kids" for years under Wenger and even made 10
changes for their recent game in the Ukraine against a team of no-hopers. It's a gamble.

Our 3rd year on the trot in the CL and Arsenal fans are getting all angsty after 19 consecutive years of CL failure and a further two years in the EL

Poor old Man City only have 15 fit players tonight. Aww.

Durham is obsessed with Spurs fans 'going over the top' when we have a decent result. Are we really all that different to other football fans?

We're in an unfortunate position of not being one of the established top teams for long enough that some of our fans still feel the need to aggressively defend our right to be at the top table. He knows that, his job is to rake in callers, and it appears that over the last few years he's managed to ruffle enough lilywhite feathers that one word that's even slightly less than complimentary from him means he'll get callers raging.

If he just said we looked great he'd have only prompted calls from the most dedicated non-Spurs fans calling up to point out it was a draw and it was against a weakened team, which he's already done with our fans more than once, so he went for the "well done, but calm down" angle, guaranteed to rile up some nutters.

People have to accept - Durham is fantastic at his job. He's a wind up merchant of the highest order, but subtle enough about it that people still bite. Smart bloke, even if he is a dick about it.

Some of our fans on twitter are pretty embarrassing, although the same can be said of most clubs.

You should remember that his wife and kid are Gooners, so don't believe all the crap about him hating Arsenal.
He's a Posh fan, but he's a bit of a closet gooner as well imo.

I do often agree with what he says and his segment on racism in football the other day was bang on but I just feel like, OK, their probably has been an OTT reaction but why not. It was a pretty amazing turn of events.

Before the inter game, Durham said it would take a miracle for us to get out the group. Now we've done it, we need to claim down and it was no big deal, couldn't beat Barcelona B team blah, blah, blah

He kept on saying we were lucky that PSV did us a favour as we knew we had to beat Barcelona to go through to the last 16 and we could not even beat their B team. Wrong Adrian, all we had to do was match Inter-Milan's results which we did
