I love how they try to style it out at the end carrying on past him!

Although to be fair the white trousers and orange jacket do make him look like a fan!

FFP and all that other stuff is for the authorities to get rich. A Club pays beyond their means and takes the fine. UEFA pretend to care and fine them a few milllion. The cronies/authorities in charge get a bonus and the team carries on doing well. Same old shit. Nothing to see here

Imagine if PL get involved, points deductions and Liverpool win the league! They're so jammy it might just even happen.

This could be a watershed moment for football when unlimited amounts of money over take the rules of the game.

Ideal scenario - City win the league, get a points deduction in the summer handing the title to Liverpool (the anti-climax) a few days later City appeal, have it as suspended so league winners in limbo, agreement reached and point deduction for the start of the 19/20 campaign league title back to city.

I can dream can’t I?

League Cup: Oxford Utd, Fulham, Leicester, Burton Albion, Chelsea
FA Cup: Rotherham, Burnley, Newport County, Swansea, (Brighton)
Europe: Lyon, Shakhtar, Hoffenheim, Schalke, (Spurs)

Games to play in brackets, obviously, but they have been very fortunate with the draws in all three competitions this season.

It looks dodgy, but I don’t think it’s a sign of corruption:

They had an easy semi final, but they faced two Premier League teams in the earlier rounds of the League Cup.

The FA Cup you’d usually expect to draw a big team in the quarters or semis, but so many big teams went out early this year.

The Champions League looks the worst, but they were the seeded team in the group stage so avoided the top teams in pot one, then they had a 50/50 chance of drawing a weaker side in pot two. In the last 16 as English group winners they could only be drawn against Atletico, Schalke, Ajax, or Roma. I don't see playing us as an easy tie, although they'll obviously be favourites.

It does help to explain why they're still in all the competitions though.

Yep, I agree with both. Luck of the draw and the CL draw is weighted.

Here's Ajax's run in contrast: Benfica, Bayern, AEK Athens, Real Madrid and now Juventus. Huge achievement to get to the QFs. Unbeaten in the group, too.

Every time I see this thread bumped I'm hoping its because they've been hit by a Uefa or FFP ban
Soon, i think.

Neil Ashton was on NBC/Sportsnet yesterday for the Fulham/Liverpool game talking about the three issues they are facing. Two are about spending and income and one is about buying youth players, which is the one they are most worried about. Then he goes on to say that Man City will defend themselves by showing off the training facilities (!), the educational campus and all the other stuff they had. Like it's a good thing they have broken rules for signing young players because now those players are better looked after. Wonder if that will work with UEFA...

I’m assuming massive brown envelopes will be the most effective thing to work with UEFA!
