Saw some posts on rawk meltdown suggesting that Liverpool held the fekir transfer story back so as not to distract from kenny getting knighted.

I was almost expecting them to be accused of tapping up the player and having to publicly apologize to Aulas.

Can someone explain to me how Liverpool are able to abide by FFP regulations? Considering their wages to turnover ratio was the highest in the league (2017 I think) and they are not been bankrolled, how are they able to continue spending 50m+ on players - no doubt paying off millions to agents and offering high salaries???

Are they at a risk? For example, if they failed to reach CL next season would it highly effect them or not?

Cause they also sell players. They have a high wages to turnover ratio but it is well under their turnover.

Failing to get cl next year will effect them but they wont have to sell, just as we wouldn't. Also remember ffp is rolling over 3 years. You could make a huge loss one year but make it up in the other 2.

They were investigated 3-4 years ago but I think some creative accounting explained a lot of it away.
Not 100% sure, don't bite me.

Yes but they sold coutinho last year so can afford to spend money. Not sure but i think last year they had a negative net spend.

Bill Shankly, OBE was obviously Knighted.

Genuine question as I don't really follow all that royal bollocks, but does an OBE count as being knighted? My understanding was that when you were knighted you then became "Sir" e.g. Sir Alex Ferguson and OBE was just an honour.

Obe higher honour than mbe but lower than a knighthood.

That makes sense but surely they re-spend that money on incomings and extra salaries, therefore it cancels it out?

If that's the case they seem to be very dependant on sales?

Only the top two ranks allow the use of sir, those being

KBE/DBE - Knight/Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire
GBE - Knight/Dame Grand Cross of the Order of the British Empire

With GBE being the highest attainable.

http://royalcentral.co.uk/blogs/insight/a-guide-to-the-order-of-the-british-empire-21224

RANKS
MBE – Member of the Order of the British Empire, is the first rank of the order and is the one which most are admitted to. It allows the holder to put the letters MBE after their name, for example Mr John Smith MBE.

OBE – Officer of the Order of the British Empire, is the second rank of the order and is the one that those who have performed very worthy service are admitted to. The holder uses the letters OBE after their name, for example Miss Jane Smith OBE.

CBE – Commander of the Order of the British Empire, is the mid-rank of the order and is generally awarded for outstanding work in an individual’s respective field. The holder uses the letters CBE after their name, for example Mr John Smith CBE.

KBE/DBE – Knight/Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire, this is the 2nd from highest rank in the order and is awarded usually for long and respected service in an individual’s field. The holder typically will use the title of ‘Sir’ if male in front of their first name and ‘Dame’ if female. KBE is male and DBE is for females.

GBE – Knight/Dame Grand Cross of the Order of the British Empire, this is the top rank in the order and typically only one or two of these are given out a year – they’re extremely rare and are given out for exceptional service. The holder uses the title of Sir (male) or Dame (female).

They are similar to us. They have a transfer budget but that will also be boosted by any money from sales. For example we might have a transfer budget of £40m this summer but if we sold:
Toby £60m
Jannsen £10m
Llorente £6m
Nkoudu £12m

We could actually spen £128m and still be within our budget.
