"A lot of people don't want it like the 70s and 80s again and a lot of people wouldn't want Manchester United to do it again."

Despite the size of his nose, he's not wrong is he? Nobody wants one team to dominate like that any more. Although it's a bit presumptuous to assume one title would spark ten :D

You're right, no one wants one team to dominate for such a long period of time, but that's why he's saying people don't want Liverpool to win the title which simply isn't true.

It's the club's and fans arrogance and also Thompson's arrogance shown perfectly in this interview assuming Liverpool will go on to dominate like they did in the 70s and 80s if they were win to league this season.

There's only one team I don't want to see win the league over Liverpool and that's arsenal, but it'll be bloody awful if Liverpool win the league, their fans will become even bigger ****s and the media Liverpool jizzfest will become even worse than it currently is.

Guardian clip..
.
"Liverpool are without the suspended Virgil van Dijk for the first leg and, with Dejan Lovren yet to complete a full training session following a recent hamstring injury, Fabinho is expected to partner Joël Matip in central defence. Roberto Firmino is also doubtful with illness"

City have proved that a team cannot dominate like that in today's football. Considering their resources and the players they have, they should.

But it would be the pinnacle and if Jurgen Klopp was able to pull it off in these days of the big money Manchester City and Chelsea have thrown at it, it would be quite unbelievable.

This is what winds me up. The shoestring budget that Liverpool think they are being run on is not that far off City & Chelsea.

He is one of the most delusional pundits out there and so biased towards liverpool it is not even funny.

Genuinely had to open the link to make sure what you'd quoted was legit.

Poor old Liverpool, only able to spend a measly £75m on a defender.

Liverpool, who outspent the next highest spenders by £39.3m last summer:

Phil Thompson again showing how deluded Liverpool fans in general are and why most can't stand them.
