Amazing people don’t rate Pulisic after one dodgy season when the player is so young. I think there’s a lot of saving face going on. The dan kilpatrick article in the Standard said we were in talks with him too but he chose Chelsea.
I bet he starts for them next season. Hazard could leave and Willian and Pedro are there other wide attacker choices. Let’s revisit this part of the thread in a year’s time.

Pulisic is a fine player but Hazard he will never be. Not even close, so that’s a bonus for us surely ( assuming Hazard is actually leaving! )
He wont start for them or make the 18. He’ll be in Holland or Spain. He needs alot of development. That will not happen at Chelsea. It was a poor move for him.
Barkley looks better than Kovacic every time I’ve seen them play for Chelsea.
In fact, Keita aside, Kovacic has been the biggest disappointment of all the summer signings in the prem, given his reputation. Perhaps he’s not suited to the system? That or there was a very good reason why Real were happy to keep him on the bench then let him leave.

Yeah it will be down to money. Especially when Sarri says he didn't even know about the transfer. So its not as though the player even sat down and had discussions with the manager.
I guess they are still a bigger name than us due to what they have won in recent times but I think the money helps as well.

JJ saying pulisic turned us down.. why a young player would chose them over us nowdays is weird.

Thing is, he’s not what we really need. It’s a strange one on our part. Especially for what would have been a big outlay for us

Probably being overlooked a little in all of this, but I get fans frustration at the same time. Makes you wonder if he see's more regular playing time there rather than with us - outside of that probably $$$

Tis true as I believe he is more a right-sided winger / attacker, which we have covered as usually play Eriksen / Dele / Son interchangeable or in weird diamond Poch seems to love at present and also have Lamela and Lucas who both play there (although I'd debate Lamela could be more effective central with a bit more freedom).
It's just frustrating that latest ITK from JJ indicates that both he and De Jong rejected us, makes me feel a little uneasy that players don't seem to want to come.
That really is quite staggering that Chelsea would spend in the region of 60 million, with agents fees etc, for a player without getting their managers agreement first. I wonder how long Sarri has got before he is given the elbow.

I guess that is just how Chelsea seem to operate. I think Sarri looked like a good appointment the way they started the season....but now he looks out of ideas with what to do with the squad. They don't appear to be clicking at all, outside of Hazard I don't think you could say any of their players look world class or standout. Kante maybe but even he is playing in a different role this season and doesn't look right. There is a reason he won the league twice with two different teams and the world cup with France....because he is a cdm/deep lying midfielder, not an attacking midfielder who can bag you 15 goals a season. I dunno, I think Sarri is just a nutcase who has no idea how to handle the team of big names.

They were. Girl who sits across the office to me took her 7 year old son last night confirmed that.
I told her that it was equivalent to child abuse taking her son, and threatened to report her to social services. He is actually a big fan of Harry Kane, so there might still be hope for him...………...
