I fucking love Lennon, but Moura everyday. Still wish Aaron had a bit more confidence in himself as he was so fast with good control, he really should've scored more

I fucking loved Aaron Lennon and his go faster eyebrow stripes. He was the only player who's name I had on my spurs shirt. After a while I realised however, I was a 31 year old man idolising a 23 year old and never felt as low as I did that day. I cried when I threw that shirt away as it served as a metaphor for how sad my life had become. Dark times.

Thanks for dragging that back up again. I'm off to have a cry wank now and try my hardest not to think of Azza.

Loved Lennon, witnessed the come up and the eventual downfall. It was pretty damning that during his last couple years he was only really lauded for his tracking back and defending. When he was 19-21 he was absolutely mint.
Lennon was at his prime for us between 08-10 so from 21 to 23. Early Lennon was frighting but rarely going anywhere with the ball. From that period Lennon was very productive. Getting very good assist stats while still having that ability to make a fool out of even the best fullbacks. He got awarded our player of the season in 08-09. In 2009-2010 he started the season on incredible form, him and Defoe actually. However, he got injured, was out for 4 months but did not return the same player. From then on he had his moments, but largely was a player that provided balance to the team. A hard working, unselfish player in a team full of flair.

Now considering Lennon started playing PL football at 16, compared to say the usual age of about 20 its not a surprise his prime was a bit earlier. At 21, he had 5 years of professional football under his belt, largely as a regular player. Similarly, his game was built on pace playing in a position where defenders are constantly chopping at your ankles. It's not actually that surprising his prime came in his early 20s.

Lennon was great when he first came cos none of our managers could fix the defending side of our game. That freed Lennon to be in dangerous space.

When all of a sudden we tried to defend as a team, Lennon turned into our hardest working player but that came at the cost his attacking effectiveness.

Loved Lennon because he worked hard for us and at times I think he was treated unfairly by managers but he gone with his job. Will always be one of my favourites, especially cos of the way he owned Evra.

Lucas on the other hand is a different beast. He will be a weakness team ethic wise, although work hard, but with the ball he will give us a new dangerous dimension.

I’ve never understood the love in for Lennon. Average player, poor record and shot that couldn’t tear a tissue in half.

Moura was the better player the day he joined.
People forget that before his injury in 2010, Lennon was amazing for us

Its a shame Lennon's injuries got the better of him as soon as the team started to do well.

There was a point in 2009 iirc, when he was pretty much ripping every LB in the league. I remember he put evra on his arse a couple of times.

I love Lennon, but I'd choose Lucas for the sole reason he has a shot on him.

Lucas can shoot with both feet and head the ball. He has much more to his game, and if we played 442 like the old days he’d probably roast fullbacks like Lennon could too.

You are probaly right. During the match i said that moura was the player we wanted lennon to be.

Got stick for it.

Just thought moura is the quick skillful player with more end product. Doesn't mean that lennon wasn't one of my favourite spurs players.

100% agree.

Will always love Lennon, and I'm incapable of making a rational call when he's involved. First half of 2012-13 was probably as good as it got for him. Got the armband for one (?) game, and had a decent amount of goals and assists. The winner away at Sunderland where he poked the ball on one side of the defender and sped around him on the other side before finishing ever so well is a good memory.

I am a bit amazed. I think moura is on the verge of world class.

Not sure about that - for a ‘verge of world class’ player he doesn’t create much

He’s arguably not in our first XI so I think that’s going over the top.

He has talent, but his final ball (passing - his shooting is good) isn’t quite there, and more importantly, nor is his decision making.

He’s improving steadily though so who knows. He’s been a really useful player this year, that’s for sure, especially for 25m

Lennon was way too one footed for mine, used to get trapped in the right corner post a lot because he couldn't cross with his left.

Moura easily for mine. more balanced and more skill and not a one trick pony.

Lennon always got me off my seat - I was gay for him. I loved him. One of my favourite players.

His voice doesnt match him though - weird.

Nope. He's very skilled with the ball at his feet, but in terms of movement off the ball, and intelligence he's miles off the best in the world.

Moura has more to his game, but I loved Lennon when he came into the team. He was electrifying in the short period immediately after he controlled the ball but just before he hit the first defender with a cross.
