Proper non-story. If it's not against any rules then there's not much to complain about. As someone said, when they're allowing blood/oil money into football then you can't really refer to morality etc.

No wonder Poch loves the guy. The best bit is that he dissected Derby in his presentation for the rest of the league to see and benefit from the rest of the season. I bet you no other team had that much info on Derby before this. They do now.

Sneaky and brilliant. That’ll learn ya, Frank.

Poor old Frank realising that Bielsa knows more about Derby than he does. Perhaps he can ask Leeds to send him powerpoints on other teams ... and someone to explain them

For me there are two parts that make this a story.

First the spy had bolt cutters and other equipment suggesting he was willing to go much further than just watching from outside.

Second, Bielsa just admitting it. Completely brazen, it’s just really funny.

To be fair by all accounts Derby's training field is visible from a public footpath and apparently kids regularly stand there and watch/get autographs afterwards etc. so even if he had bolt cutters it doesn't sound like he needed to use them

Absolutely, that was my point. Going to watch training that is in open view is not a story.

Bringing bolt cutters, suggests he was willing to go further.

I agree with you, if he'd cut a fence and crawled through etc. then it's more of a big deal because he has commited several crimes etc. and gone to a considerable effort. However, once the dust had settled on the story it sounds like he actually just pulled up in a Leeds car, and stood on a public footpath where people regularly watch Derby train, and reported back. The whole bolt-cutters thing seems to stem from a throw-away comment made by Lampard in his press conference when he said:

"I'd rather not coach than send people undercover on their hands and knees with pliers and bolt cutters to go and look at the opposition because I respect the opposition."

But it doesn't seem like the guy actually did have bolt-cutters on him, the story has just been exaggerated based on Lampard's quote. It has been suggested he'd been several times before and so would've known he didn't need to cut through any fencing anyway so there's no reason for him to have brought bolt cutters in the first place. It's yet more #FakeNews as usual based on the stuff I've read now that the dust has settled.

If the break in bit is bollocks, and it was just a guy standing and watching, then what the hell is the fuss about? Is it just because of the Derby/Leeds thing, and Lampard?
