Yeah I was quite defensive of the whole thing to start with, worked before etc. But it's been ages, and it seems Poch is getting slightly more irritated as the time goes on

With the facilities we now have, the only reason he surely needs to go back to Rome is psychological

This has never made a lot of sense. Maybe it's one of those injuries that doesn't seem bad but doesn't clear up? I don't think Poch would put up with someone just not wanting to play so doubt it's psychological. We could do with everyone fully fit because there should be some big games ahead.

I just hope the guys give him a rousing welcome back to make him feel at home. Yeah i know it sounds cheesy but i think the lad needs a hug from his teammates seeing he's been out of the game for a while and away from it all.

Speak for yourself.

Oh do one. You can't make a perfectly reasonable comment on this forum anymore without being negged, it's getting juvenile

He clearly has a mental issue surrounding his fitness. The fact that he returns to his old club indicates this, he wants familiarity and to feel safe with people who have treated him before, and I was all for that - worked last time. Part of recovery is in the mind as well as the body. I even commented on a F365 article that said it was bizarre, asking why.

But there's nothing on the scans, it's dragging on with no end date despite no sign of progress or indeed injury, we have an incredible fitness complex, Poch's comments have got more and more forceful, and he's now insisting he returns. Dress that up how you want.

I don't agree that he won't start as the guy says above, but I don't neg him for it. By all means disagree, put a different case across, it's a forum, but I don't understand what I've said that warrants Doh or WTF to a perfectly logical comment, but it's happening more and more.

You didn't get negged. All the ratings you got were neutral.

Doh and WTF are both negs, regardless of what SC's tally reads them as. I know that's how I interpret them, they're not exactly subtle - one means you're stupid, one means you're nuts

I couldn't give a toss about an overall score, this isn't Destiny. But both Doh and WTF are clearly used to try and close down arguments when people are either too lazy to interact or don't have a counter argument but want to disagree anyway

Lamela has form for this, he's also been very open to leaving on several occasions. It's not just me - some of the other guys above have made perfectly reasonable comments

I know you think you make sense, but you are laughably off the scale of sense. You don't understand the limits of scans, and you believe what you read in news reports. This is shown by your last paragraph.

I think it might be a good idea to get him to train with u23s for a while until he's 100% right in his head and body. The last thing we need is someone moping around, saying he's still depressed about his dog and always complaining about some kind of pain that doesn't show up in scans.

We don't need that kind of negativity around the squad.

I gave you a disagree. Your little rant just makes you look paranoid and with a skin as thin as Trump.

You can have pain and have a negative scan. If I were you, I'd shut up before you make more of a horse's arse of yourself. He didn't say he was moping about his dog; that was written by that prick from The Telegraph, Matt Law. There are a group of bastards in the fan base that have it in for Lamela and are eager to jump on him at every opportunity. The last time I went to WHL, I told one of them to put a sock in it and he kept quiet the rest of the game.

Has form for what? Where's this talk of leaving coming from? All this article is, is Poch saying he's coming back and he hopes he'll be getting fit again soon.

You come in make accusations as though he's angling for a move and get rightly negged for it and don't understand why?

I'd say that for any player in Lamela's position. I just think there's something else going on, the lack of any new contract may have something to do with it. I think we can all agree on two things 1) The goings on with Lamela have been unusual 2) we have not missed him.

There seems a lot of similarities with Bentaleb and I personally think it's very unlikely he'll be here next season. But if he can make a contribution to this one, great.

We missed him against City, which I know you disagree with. As for the rest of the games, when we come up against the big teams he is crucial.
What are the similarities with Bentaleb, who is still a Spurs player even if he's on loan?
