Some Sky Sports Reporter was outside Stamford Bridge discussing the new managerial appointment. The studio asked him about Chelsea's transfers targets and Modric was mentioned with the reporter saying,"I don't care what Tottenham say, the Modric matter is not over and every player has their price. I believe Chelsea will make an improved offer -this story is not closed."

The studio then asked him about outgoing transfers from Chelsea and reporter said, "it would not be right and unfair for me to discuss names of players on live TV."

Typical hypercritical *****!!!!!! :bang::bang::bang::bang:

Why is this worth a thread? Everyone knows that SSN are possibly the worst mainstream football "news" source there is.

That's exactly what they want though, of course. They report on as many tedious transfer sagas as they can manufacture.

correction.....

Everyone knows that Sky are possibly the worst mainstream "news" source there is.

They set their agenda and generally stick to it, no matter how wild and weird their stories might be.

Tony Cascarino is on there now chatting about how the most important signing for Chelsea now is Modric and how they need to go all out to sign him because he is the one type of midfielder they lack and how Torres needs someone like him to feed off

Rah rah rah just don't want to let the story die down even though there was a perfect opportunity to switch the focus to the Porto players who have been linked via their domestic press and the link with AVB becoming manager.

SSN are being a dog with a bone over the Modric deal, stupid links about the colour of SPURS kit modric is placed in for photoshoot and literally taking any chance to revert to talking about an expected new bid from Chelsea according to their SOURCES

Fuck off now, until you have something new to report there is nothing to be said right now. Chelsea enquired Levy said no sale is acceptable end of story until such time you actually have something new to report....yet they continue to make links based on opinion or we hear type bollocks.

I think now is the time for us to put a £22m bid in for Terry, Cole and Lampard.

I think we need to not sell no, if we just cave in again once a bigger team offers the type of money that seems acceptable we will be sending out signals of small team mentality and basically verifying that any player who is deemed too big for us can just be swept up by a bigger fish and we are happy to just keep ticking over without ever really challenging.

Not selling now, regardless of how much is offered or what Modric does will be a clear indication that we mean business and we mean to breach the highest level of English and European football.

Modric has a long contract, is young and is not going to depreciate in value any time soon so we have no reason to sell. Even if we make him stay against his wishes he will still have to perform to his best if he still wants the top clubs to be interested in him next year.

If he takes his foot off the gas he will be forgotten and others will take his place on their wish list.

No way should we sell this window and after Levy's statement he would look like a total mug if he did now.

Mr Cascarino - you hear the words "NOT FOR SALE", yet decide to get involved and stir this pot again. F*cking idiot - learn to listen more and don't be such a prick.

The way i see it, if everyone thought like these pundits, then there would only be four teams from the UK, as all the best players would go there by default and any club that discovers it has a decent talent would have to sign them over to the top four. Would you enjoy that, Mr C? Do you like the idea of the Prem turning into a slightly larger scale model of the Scottish Prem?

How about a bit of credit for a team that has, regularly, had to succumb to the exact situation you're trying to encourage here, on a pretty regular basis, yet have still managed to climb that table. No sugar daddy or buy out by a mega-corp, it's through hard work and astute financial decisions, yet you still appear to prefer the method of getting a new owner with more money than sense and them then butchering every transfer window.

I'm glad i got rid of Sky, i'd have kicked my telly through to next door by now.

Cas is a hell of a nice guy....but he should stop allowing himself to be drawn into something that is none of his business. He is a Football Pundit...of no real value...above being an ex-player? Ofcourse....with The new appointment at The Ridge, we will get the full treatment from Shy Spurts....no matter what the reality of the situation might be? The EPL should be ' on their case' but that would upset the apple cart....and the money train....ending in increased Global Warming....and an end to the Trans-Siberian domination of the Energy markets...and ALL ending up with Chelsea having to sell Abromvic London Based Club...to the Club...with the greater footballing history....who wear a cockrel on their chests (or wherever the sponsors deem it fits best?).
Back to Cas....he failed at Hairdressing (on a world stage), did a reasonable job in International Football....but fell away...and is now 'clutching at straws'? COYS!

Then Torres should come to the lane!

Its actually getting disgusting and my blood is boiling again.

The subject is closed so if they want to waste air time discussing something that isn't going to happen let them.

Its like if you keep saying something it will happen. Fuck the lot of them, Modric is not for sale.

Sorry Modders, but you might just be the precedent we set to these rats that we are no longer in the business of losing our best players.

Its got to stop sometime, if we really do have aspirations, or we might as well all pack up and go home.
