Hoping he's referring to Keita Balde (or Patrick Shick).

I don't like the word potential.
We know by now someone else is going to piss on our parade.

It couldnt be Insigne at he stated Northern.

Not true I don't believe
It was breezer that said northern I thought not jj
I stand to be corrected.
What better way to reward your manager than to buy him the player that he claims to really admire ?
Just been in my head since the whole Italia stuff started and the fact that it's so quiet and hush hush.

Insigne signed a new contract in April. Can't see it happening

Bale signed one shortly before he left and about a hundred other top footballers have means very little apart from the price.

Problem with the contract is that it must put him out of our price range. Like you said it was a very optimistic shout anyway.

We would have 0 chance of signing Insigne. Keita Balde on the other hand, is almost definitely going to be sold.

I honestly believe that if the right player came along that Poch really wanted and that was attainable, Levy would sanction a 40-50m bid. With the funds we've acquired this window.
We paid £30m for Sissoko last year!

But it would really have to be a potentially special player.

Bale signed one a year before leaving.

Wasn't it for 5 years though ?
Like I said all it did was put us in a position to name the price really.

Not sure levy cares as much about the price it's more the wage as I see it
He has always claimed if the right player came along the price wouldn't be an issue maybe he has decided to back his own statement for the first time ever haha.

Insigne has certainly blown up in the last couple of years in terms of output, so could be seen as that special player. Things that could go against him in terms of our valuation is him being 26, so less potential resale, and him being 5'4" so a bit of a worry in adapting to our league. Has got the pace, mad dribbling, and eye for goal we are after though.

His team mate Mertens could be an interesting one, there is the Belgian connection and was linked at the end of last season. Maybe they'd rather keep Insigne and move him on instead? At 30 though would be very uncharacteristic of us.
