That isn't actually what he says (inevitably).

In every interview, Kane has made it very clear. Totti "achieved everything he wanted to at that club". That is a point Kane makes again and again and again, every time he is asked.

As long as he feels he's progressing, he's not looking to leave. However, at some point, if he feels he can't achieve everything he wants at Spurs – and I would presume winning the Premier League and Champions League are things he'd want to achieve – he will leave.

It's really quite simple. It doesn't boost anyone's chances of keeping him, it just reiterates, again, that this is a two-way thing and Spurs have to continue to be as ambitious as him.
Well Roma didn't really set the world on fire in the time he was there did they?
He simply LOVED the club...

Well, I did say that in my post - Totti won very little in the grand scheme of things.

Roma won the league in Totti's eighth year at the club, when he was 24, exactly where Kane is now, although obviously his loans and late blooming means it hasn't felt like that. They never won it again.

Roma also finished 2nd in nine of the 16 years that followed it (with six finishes between 6th and 8th), netted two domestic cups and never got further than the quarters of the Champions League.

So yeah, if Kane wants to emulate Totti (which he doesn't say), he could totally do that at Spurs if he loves the club. So let's see if he does.

Aye. That’s because he won the World Cup, which is beyond our control (Altho Poch’s trying his best to help!) and Roma is Rome. Spurs aren’t London unfortunately.

Rome is in Lazio, though.

Then Lazio is in Rome which is in the Lazio region.

Or I might be wrong.

Not sure what my point is tbh.

Yeah it is. There are two Rome clubs. They play at the same ground, although that's temporary. Lazio was actually founded before Roma, too.

However, Roma was formed from a merger of three original Rome clubs that pre-date Lazio, hence along with the name them being more instantly recognised as the Rome club.

Also Lazio were in Serie B as recently as 1987, and have spent several eras in the second tier. Roma have only once not been Serie A in their entire history. Lazio have had huge ups and downs.

It's not too dissimilar to Spurs and Arsenal, in some ways, except neither have had the success of Arsenal (and luckily we've not had the prolonged lows of Lazio), but Chelsea's rise has diluted Spurs' prominence in the capital and Europe.
