We can confirm that Harry Kane sustained ligament damage to his right ankle during Sunday's FA Cup win against Millwall.

The injury is similar to the one suffered by the forward against Sunderland in Sept last year, however it is not considered to be as severe.

Well I suppose good news. Also with an international break coming up it will reduce the number of important matches he misses.

Hopefully back for the semi on 22 April. Five games before then we hopefully can do well in without him. I just hope he comes back refreshed for the run in.

Still seems like an early assessment and they don't mention a return date. If it's not as bad as last time that's got to be good, Kane is the one player we can't really replace. The cup semi final will be tough if he's not fully fit.

Fingers cross Big Kane will be back soon for the semi final.Maybe this will give Jansen time to really show what he his.Son can play up front with 16 goals so far and then we have Alli playing just behind.Any team will struggle with the class of Kane up front.Having Kane and Rose back for April will be like too new signing. But don't forget we are spurs nothing is always simple.

Terrible decison to start him at the weekend. If we don't get past Chelsea in the semi and we stutter a little in the PL games we could easily drop out of the top 4. Poch put Lloris and Eriksen on the bench, hence wasn't going all out. It was an unnecessary use of resources on the day - he prioritied incorrectly IMO. Back to back CL and finishing above (and possibly pushing out) the other lot is a big milestone for the club and underscores the huge progress we are making. Kane is the one player we can't replace well, and we are now left a little exposed.

I think thats rubbish. Which team other team didnt play their strongest side in the quarter final? The manager has been lambasted for resting players in other important games and now he is lambasted for not. Should he have benched him with the intention of seeing if we struggled without him then bring him on in desperation if things werent going right? Or are you going to use hindsight and say 'it was Millwall'?

Ahh the good old retrospect-o-scope!

I bet you wouldn't have posted this if he hadn't got injured and we squeaked through by the odd goal

Why is it a 'terrible decision' to start him against Millwall?

It's our only chance of winning a trophy this season, something we haven't done in years.

By the way was it a 'terrible decision' to play Kane agsinst Sunderland?

Injuries happen, part of the game, get over it.

I agree. It's easy with hindsight, especially as we won so comfortably without him, but most expected that to be a much more difficult game, and I get the feeling the club are giving this cup a higher priority this year and rightly so.

Agreed. We also shouldn't have started him against Sunderland last september. We could beat them without Kane and had we rested him he wouldn't have got the first injury. Who knows we could be top with all the goals he would have scored during those 7 weeks he missed.

I absolutely would have - and I would have rested a few more too. Plenty in the squad who need game time.
