Kane doesn't need to leave Spurs to become world-class

He doesn't need to become world class - he really obviously already is.
I think that's just it, he is world class but the club is merely very good. A bit like with Bale and Modric, we need to show our star man that he doesn't need to go anywhere else to compete for the big trophies. This side is better than the Bale and Modric team but winning something this year might keep it together. When we do well the vultures circle.

I keep reading he has to go to Madrid or Barca to become one the best but it just doesn't logically stand up. If Kane can continue increasing his scoring rate at Spurs we will continue to win more. If Kane can wins multiple trophies with us he will have eclipsed most around him

If he wins things here rather than at a money bags club surely that leads even more weight to his claim for world class status. He already is world class in any case.

Although the term is almost as meaningless as "big club" is these days.

I'm sure this crap didn't exist when I was young - about players 'needing' to move to 'win things' and 'become world class'. You basically had a load of teams, and they all tried to win. The best teams won because they signed the best players, yes - but the best players weren't 'expected' to sign for the best teams. Quite the opposite: the best players were expected to help the team they already played for play better.

No-one would dream of suggesting to a player that he 'needed' to move clubs. The very idea undermines the whole ethos of football: you do your best for the team that you play for. These idiot pundits are gradually killing football, by undermining the foundations of the game.
