They have another player Joao Felix who is highly rated, I wonder if anybody can give us the lowdown on both and how they compare

Felix is the biggest wonder kid in Portugal and one of the biggest in world football. He is so beyond our reach and will cost crazy money, probably around 80 mil. Zero point in thinking we could get him. Quality player tho.

Hey, no harm in asking - Mopo has form in bringing through talented young players and giving them a fair crack of the whip - we win that match in Madrid and if an increase in funds is on the table this window, never say never.

Champions league result pending, i really think we're a more attractive destination than we give ourselves credit for now, we've come a long way and if the money we have available is there to reflect our new stadium and whatever injections these runs in the Champions League provide, I wouldn't be surprised to see us in for some talent that would previously have not given us a sniff. Worst they can say is no and it doesn't cost anything to ask, does it?

Actually, it probably does.

I think he's thinking about Joao Felix.

Absolutely. Apologies, I wrongly remembered him being called Jota (which wasn't too outlandish considering they share the first name). Jota seems a lot cheaper though I'm not too keen on unproven Portuguese wonderkids. They are like the Brazilians used to be. Lots of hyped names with only a handful of starts in the senior side. Add to that crazy prices with slimy agents and 3rd party ownerships. Lots of risk.

Not in the old way, but agents and others are still circumventing it. Sort of like how FFP doesn’t do anything to Man City.

It doesn't matter we pay the club that's it. We get the registration. The player is ours.

The player has to sign a contract mate. If the agent isn’t making extra on top of it from “owning” a percentage of a player then the player isn’t signing.

You are talking about an agents influence on the player which is different. The clubs will set the transfer fee. Not the player not the agent. The agent may want a fee for mediating the deal but that is not the same as 3rd party ownership.

Just supplied the assist for the opening goal. Nice through ball on the counter that sent the goal scorer free on goal. Really impressive so far; good first touch, very positive.

The way he moves with the ball reminds me of Bernardo Silva. Very smooth, always canvasing his options and is very adept at shifting the ball quickly off his foot to create some space. Looks like quite the creative talent. His crossing has been abysmal, though.

I believe he is currently playing in the U20 World Cup for Portugal. Portugal seemed to attack thru his side of the field. He showed good dribbling, but not an end product in game vs S Korea.
