Lots of outlets today reporting an interest from Celtic, which would actually be a decent place to send Janssen on loan if we don't receive the sort of offer to buy we want.

I’d take Maja ina hertbeat, and loan him back, good to have him on the books at least, at the rumoured 1.5 mill, an absolute no brainer
I think the market will drive that fee up. Any club in the prem that wants him and wants to compete will see that go above 10m IMHO.

He's got six months on his contract right? If the player is determined to move to the Premier League and Sunderland attempt to hold clubs to ransom, he'll just move for a tribunal fee in the summer.

Thought I read he is another young player bound for Germany?

If more than one Prem or Championship club start going after him they will sell to the higher bidder. It's how a free market works.

The player could just play out the remainder of his contract and chose his next clubs on his own terms as a free agent in the summer. He's young enough that the fee would then be set by a tribunal. It's how the Bosman ruling works.

Doubtful that clubs would get into a massive bidding war over a League 1 teenager whose contract is set to expire. They're not going to pay 10 times what a tribunal would assess come the summer.

Well that's your opinion. If two clubs or more want him enough and he is agitating for a move now which it looks like he is then the fee will go up.

Ticks all the right boxes for me and be a signing worth taking a punt on!
Can finish with both feet, spacey and can dribble. He's young and English so would be a good player to develop.
I for one would not be dissapointed if he was brought in

With a huge stadium bill a zero nett spend is understandable. We got some cash for M.D. from China. Surely there are few better options to invest it than here.

Young, HG, talented, brought up nearby, cheap, soon out of contract.

Ticks all the boxes. Even if is a £3m buy with a loan back for the rest of the season surely this looks a good deal.

Buying this lad and loaning him back for the end of the season would look like a huge no-brainer, sounds like quite a prospect. Could even go back to them next year if they get to the Championship to get playing.

Saw an interview with him, he seems like he has a good attitude that would fit in with the squad harmony etc

Haven’t watched it again, but I remember thinking he seemed to have a good head on his shoulders.

I’m definitely more favouring this kind of deal than another Ligue 1 gamble, as backup behind Kane and another senior option. I’m guessing it’ll be a fairly sensible fee given the league status and his contract situation. But and loan back. In today’s HG driven environment you can’t lose on a player like this. If he’s a success, happy days, however if he doesn’t pan out he’ll still draw a decent few to a Championship club to recoup the initial outlay.

As much as we want him, has there been any credible links to him?

If I were him, I would go to Germany in a heartbeat. Seeing the number of English youngsters who are playing and thriving in Bundesliga and knowing that you will have the best chance to not only play and improve as a player, but also experience a different culture and country? You have to take that chance.

If he does well enough, he will be able to take his pick when it comes to choosing his next move. Move to the Premier League, go to another country and experience another culture if he enjoys it, or stay where he is. The world is his oyster.
