I really want Jan to stay. He's barely played alongside Chiriches this season, which I think is probably our strongest CB pairing.

So last summer we're getting Roma's best players and this year ours want to move there...fucking great.

They were linked with Sandro recently too

Lamela + Baldini = constant Roma rumour?

If we're going to lose him, I'd be very disappointed for it to be to a team like Roma, who to be honest, I think are just a flash in the pan. It was only last summer that one of their best players moved to us. If he went there it would only be for 2 years tops

He'd be the first player of ours to leave against our wishes to a side that wasn't indisputably in the top 4 in the world for a very very long time.

I don't count Van Der Vaart as I think his career was on a downward trajectory and we wanted to sell.

The best players want to play champions league. Vertonghen hasn't really kicked on from last season but he's good enough to play at the highest level. Once we missed out we knew this sort of story would come and it won't just be Vertonghen but Lloris and Eriksen too. It's a big if but if we can get a new manager and the players believe in him then we could keep some of our stars. Then next year we need to qualify...

Vertonghen and Kaboul are our best centre backs. It's a shame we haven't seem much of that partnership. Hopefully our next manager will convince him to stay.

I think Man Utd have identified that they need to get a Manager in quickly to steady the boat. Being Spurs, I fully expect us to still be faffing around in August whilst our players are being tapped up left right and centre. Vertonghen is a prime candidate.

Mr Levy

THE CLUB IS A SHAMBLES RIGHT NOW

SORT IT OUT FFS!
There are two dimensions to our club. The positives: stadium in theory progressing and punching at, or slightly above, our weight in the table based on wages while keeping net spend in the black.
The second is poor executive level structuring planning and hiring. Surprising really when the background of levy is considered. Related is the poor external communication strategy.....again surprising when one considers his experience. After all a major co in a non football field would expect a far superior communication strategy and far more clarity when it came to the hiring of the top 1-2 staff members in the companies core sector

We'll be hearing him linked will loads of clubs from now till he goes OR signs a new contract.
IMHO I think he'll wait and see whos coming in as in manager wise and what he has planned....before he makes his final decision.

However the way he's played this year and his attitude......I wouldn't want him near our club.....I want players that want to play for us and ones that ain't going to spit their dummies out because its not going right for them.

I can see DL selling him for 25mil though, and I reckon we'd get that figure for him.

We just need to get our new manager in asap ....then let him talk to the players and he can then see who wants to stay and fight or who wants to leave.......then clear out the ones that want to go asap and get some replacements in early ,so we can have a solid pre-season and push on.
However this is spurs and I can't see that happening :( lol.

I wonder if Vertonghen still does that superman routine when he scores...

And VDV wanted to go for family reasons. To me that is much different than throwing a fit and stomping their feet because they want to play for Real Madrid and uncle Levy won't let them.

Yes, we must get in a new top manager before the WC or risk losing our best players (who might well be tempted to leave anyway). I really hope we get in F. De Boer before the WC. This would work wonders to show ambition and settle our players - not least Jan and Eriksen, who played for him at Ajax.
