I wouldn't be against signing him. Looks useful as a squad player, but that's on very limited viewings.

i was underwhelmed by Grealish last year when we were trying to sign him.

I now know why we were trying and am fucked off we didn't pull it off.

He's almost taken Villa up o his own back despite being injured a lot.

Young, home grown, bags of potential and a leader.

Where are we at that we are turning our noses up at this kind of signing?

He’s an excellent footballer. He’ll be as good as, and probably better than Maddison when he plays in the prem next year. We really need to get him.

If Grealish is expected to be Eriksen's replacement, then we need to look at his output - Eriksen has a 29% goal participation rate this season - which is not unusual for him. Jack has a 14% goal participation rate at Villa.

That's quite a drop off as playmakers go.

If he is seen as Eriksen's replacement I would be seriously disappointed.

He’s a different player to Eriksen, he carries the ball really well (something Eriksen doesn’t do) and creates a lot of space for others. More of a Lamela upgrade than anything.

Honestly, I know I might be weird, but I want him more than any other player we've been linked to, even Ndombele (well, maybe not Bale, but I don't count that as a real link).

Incredible talent, and importantly, an incredible mentality to match that talent. Listen to the Villa fans, and they'll tell you that he has literally carried Villa to the playoff final on his own back.

There's not a box he doesn't tick for me. In every single aspect he looks a Tottenham player, and one that would thrive here.

I’ve never really rated him but I have to admit he looked good and bossed the game tonight. He’d be good to add as a squad player but I’d hope for stronger options as starters.

Fair enough. We get a reasonable number of Championship games on telly here, and Villa are often a team that's televised, so I've seen a bit of him, and he looks mustard every single time imo. I honestly think those that don't necessarily rate him would be surprised, and I honestly think he would be a starter here in the current diamond formation that Pochettino seems to favour.

Who would he be benching?

Id be interested to see him on the left of a midfield diamond behind Dele or Eriksen (if he stays), with Sissoko on the right. Should not be compared directly against Eriksen and will not replace all of the qualities Eriksen has to offer. But he can carry the ball forward from midfield and looks good in that deeper role that Eriksen does not seem to enjoy, doing the dirty work when it’s needed. He can also track back defensively with some needed aggression (like Lamela). Versatile, talented player in midfield and a threat in and around the box.

Poor point you have to look at who he’s creating chances for good strikers equals more goals. I like him but do see him lose and overplay the ball at times. Still think he’d do well and think he would look up to kane etc and add to his maturity and game

I’d be very pleased with him coming in. Think with Poch he can become a real good player. However if Villa come up, I doubt he will leave.

I don't think he will. Maddison is much more dynamic and imaginative in the way he uses the ball, Grealish is more pragmatic.
Not saying he's a bad player but offensively I think Maddison is better. The better overall player I couldn't tell you.

Plays much deeper than Eriksen, wouldn’t be his replacement different style of players

I think he’s more of a cover for Eriksen . He (Eriksen) hasn’t had much of a rest this season as there wasn’t adequate cover to relieve him in some games. If Eriksen leaves, we’d need a player to replace Eriksen and Grealish would then be the cover for Eriksen’s replacement.

Quality player, he has carried Villa this season since returning from injury. Would be a good addition to the side
