From Villa's ITK*

"The whole thing has been a farce in how Spurs have gone about the whole episode, even though Jack is going nowhere, They are a disgrace imo!"

In response to someone saying they can't see Spurs bidding enough: "Too true, there is no way they will bid £40m just to get Jack to the table!"

*same bloke I've quoted on here before, I am however only assuming he's ITK from the reactions his posts get I don't actually know that he is for sure

I don't think that guy is ITK.

We’ve all assumed Grealish would be bought for CM, but there’s every possibility he’s being looked at for out wide as he has spent most of his career there before last season.

I was thinking the same thing. If the dreaded HG is truly an issue it explains why everything is so up in the air. We must be looking at 1 HG and one not for the 2 we want in AM & CM. Combo of Martial & Grealish as 2nd choice? Unknown non HG & Zaha as second? Only thing that vaguely makes sense bringing all pieces of ITK together

I really trust Dan Kilpatrickn and in his recent article he said

"but as well as Grealish they are hoping to sign a holding midfielder and a forward in the next week. "

So I believe the goal is Grealish, Lobotka and then Martial but the home-grown issue is causing all kinds of problems. my opinion is I'd like us to just go in for Zaha but I appreciate the 75 mill touted is ridiculous so it's needing a rejig of sorts.

My only concern would be whether the Lobokta and Grealish would be considered as 2 players for the same spot in our squad or whether Lobokta would be considered a holding midfielder. Time will tell I guess.

All I know is, with regards to the HG status and decision making as soon as the transfer deadline slams shut I'll be more than happy to exclaim the wild inconsistencies in our window.

I sense sarcasm :cautious:

No I'm serious. You haven't given the full quote.

"The whole thing has been a farce in how Spurs have gone about the whole episode, even though Jack is going nowhere, They are a disgrace imo!"

What he actually said is:

"Put up or shut up time then from what we have read on here?.. The whole thing has been a farce in how Spurs have gone about the whole episode, even though Jack is going nowhere, They are a disgrace imo!"

EDIT: Actually it looks like he's edited it. Regardless, he isn't ITK.

My guess would be, if 433 is the plan, that Lobotka would be seen as an option for DM or either CM role (let’s say iniesta and Xavi), Grealish would be seem as an option for either CM role or out wide, and Eriksen/ Dele the same as Grealish.

Yeah I like this, I really want a more mobile DM and think this is the route we should take however because poch has always had a big destroyer type and then Dembele on top it makes me question whether he would make that shift. If he did we could then do 4-1-4-1 and Grealish would slot in perfectly into the 4 with his ability out wide and centrally. Those 2 really would give us so much variety in formation it would be terrific. I'd still be disappointed if we didn't add a forward like Martial or Zaha however.

I still reckon we're looking at Brozovic as well as Lobotka.

Presumed that part was his tongue in cheek commentary on how everyone else reacted to the news we're in talks with them

I personally don't think Lobotka and Grealish are similar in their playing style. Grealish is more of an Eriksen whereas Lobotka is more of a Modric. What I mean is that I'd see Grealish as an 8/potential 10 and Lobotka as 4/stand-in 8.

Hopefully that makes sense.

Yeah completely. Both can play CM but Lobotka (from the 5 minutes of youtube I've seen of him) looks like he plays much closer to the defence, picking up the ball with his back to the opposition goal and creating space and passing it forward. Grealish looks from the games I've watched to have less defensive responsibility and drives the ball forward and gets into more attacking areas.

This would be great because we really lack of variety in our midfield options vs teams who park the bus.

He doesn't seem to claim to be a regular itk for them but he has claimed consistently from very early on that Jack will not go and that he has heard that from sources who would know.

I think his info is old and perhaps from sources trying to placate him because he seems to be hinting at times that Jack might refuse to go even if villa agree a fee, which is contrary to a lot of itk that suggests that Jack would like a shot at the prem with us this year.

Ah here you go, just found one of his quotes from earlier on the search you did :

"I was told weeks ago (by someone within the club) that Grealish was not leaving. I will stand by this and remain adamant that Jack is going nowhere."

There is more but cbf looking.

One of their supporters spoke to jack (posted a picture of him talking to jack while jack was in the car) who said jack said he was going.
