As it stands, most recent ITK suggests we're pissing both Villa and Grealish around, keeping them simmering while we explore other options, leaving them less and less time to replace JG if we ever bother to complete the deal.
On that basis I fully expect him to start tonight, I don't think Villa are stupid enough to leave him out and potentially risk their chances of promotion at the end of the season based on Levy playing funny fuckers.
If he isn't in the squad, I'll take that as a sign that things have moved considerably.

Seems to me we have two tracks
1 is Grealish with Possibly Martial
2 is non-HG cm and then we were exploring Zaha for the HG option
Looks to me like we will piss everybody off and get fuck all.

EFL clubs can actually complete loan deals up to 31st August.

I'll be more surprised if he doesn't play tonight than if he does.
I think this one is likely to go through but I'd fully expect Villa to ignore any requests from us for him not to play simply because of the manner in which this has dragged on.

Not playing would go some way to indicating Villa's "need" to sell, given the risk of injury etc. If he plays, that could be considered a message that they don't have to sell him this window. If he doesn't play that could show their financial situation is still pretty sketchy.

I was thinking the same thing. If the dreaded HG is truly an issue it explains why everything is so up in the air. We must be looking at 1 HG and one not for the 2 we want in AM & CM. Combo of Martial & Grealish as 2nd choice? Unknown non HG & Zaha as second? Only thing that vaguely makes sense bringing all pieces of ITK together

If a transfer is close and we are near agreeing we wouldnt want him risked especially if things are nearly all tied up.... like it did with Sanchez last year
