I didn't think we would be able to replace Modric. But Dembele, who was a good, but not spectacular player (IMO) came in and has become a fan favourite and made that position his own.
Im not "excited" by grealish, but he could still be a success here.

Yeah Dembele is definitely one of my favorite players he's a joy to watch on the ball, so was modric. I'm more excited to see if Poch can bring the best out of Grealish there's definitely potential there, some of our players in the past have said Poch is like a father figure to them and I can see it working similarly with JG

On a side issue to us potentially getting Grealish; I think it's really sad what's happening to Villa. They've always been a top flight team in my lifetime, League winners, European Champions, now reduced to selling a promising kid to pay debts. Relegation or 'not being as good as we used to be' is one thing, but the very real prospect of a great club like that actually going out of business is a sobering thought.

Well said mate, Villa are a big club with a great history and its a shame to see heir demise in this way.
I think it was the first season we got into the champs league under Harry Redknapp, for a while we were neck and neck with Villa in the league competing for top four. We went from strength to strength and Villa have just capitulated.

Villa fans not happy at all about the rumour that we have bid only 15 mil for him.
Some think that he's worth 30 mil + but he's totally unproven at the EPL level. Dele came in at 5 mil only a few years ago.
Also, the player I hope does think about the best spot for him to develop. As others have said, Spurs vs the graveyard that is Chelsea should be obvious, but if a young players head is turned by money, then we know where he will want to go.

In fairness, they weren't very good with money back then (for opposite reasons maybe under O'Neill than they were for O'Leary), and Randy Lerner just didn't seem to do much for their financials.

Alasdair Gold said the Grealish bid is 'a touch premature'. Wonder what's going on with that supposed £15m bid then.

All based off who they're talking to I imagine. Spurs telling Gold we haven't bid, Aston Villa letting everyone know they'd be interested in other offers and trying to get a higher fee.

From what I have picked up over the last few years the actual bid seems to be the last thing done. Club let’s player talk, buying club agree terms with player and agent, clubs speak about what the fee will be and how it will be paid. Broad agreement reached then the bid goes in.

That seems to be a very rough guide to how things happen now or I may be talking bollocks.

I'll translate.

No idea about the satellite though, Herc has me there.
