Onomah is a no-go! That is from the horses mouth! I know certain things may be out the players hands, but he is not for it. And as I said before, he wants to make a go of it here. And we owe him that.

Would be a bit weird for CCV, he seems ready for a shot at the prem

Some of the younger ones would be nice, maybe like shashoua/sterling or if he really thinks he’s ready chuck them Griffiths. I know very little about our youth football so those may be stupid suggestions but CCV definatly shouldn’t.

From what I saw of CCV in the Championship, he isn't ready for the Premier League.

I’d heard he was really good at Ipswich and then was one of the US’s best players against France but I’ll defer to anyone else who knows more

Hope we don’t loan them Onomah or KWP. Both should be fully fledged members of the first team imo. Onomah for YPOTY you heard it here first. (I’ve decided I’m not an Onomah fanboy)

Was solid at Sheffield United, then tailed off and solid after his move to Ipswich, however he was prone to switching off/making costly errors in both spells.

At Premier League level, he would cost his team a lot of goals. He's still got time on his side - just think he needs another year in the Championship.

Nobody else genuinely confused by these fees? Will Hughes, who from what I've read on him seems a similar prospect to Grealish, had more caps for the U21's, same position, etc. Went for 8 mil last summer to Watford. Is Grealish really 2 or 3 times the player Hughes was? Not trying to stir everything up again just figured it was an interesting discussion point.
Will Hughes is a slightly different case. Firstly he operates a bit differently as he’s more of a playmaker from deep and typically a number ten type of player will be more valuable based on position (and production).

Secondly Hughes was seen as having plateaued for a couple seasons after the early hype and some injuries. Whereas Grealish has really come on this season and has began to look like the player many thought he could become - still needs plenty of development mind.

Id be happy to let them have foyth for a season to get some games. Would really help his development to play week in week out.

Question...

Even if we get him for £15m, do you think we should invest this elsewhere instead? I am thinking that Martial would be a better option anyway with regards to investment. I suppose there was an argument about budgets, but seeing as the Stadium has not got it's PR name yet there may be some tricks up Levy's sleeves?

The potential upsell on Grealish is phenomenal. He will surprise many of you.

We've been constantly told we're after 2 CM so I wonder if we consider him a Cm? because I'm getting worried that we haven't been linked with a good Cm(who in my opinion is the biggest priority).
I agree with you that a top end CM would be my #1 priority as I think it’s the one position that a big improvement could see the team really take that big next step.

That said all the rumours and ITK seem to suggest the club is looking at it differently. In all likelihood it appears most of the big money signings will be put towards an AM (Martial, Pulisic, Bale, etc.) and a CB (de Ligt) while the rest will go towards he midfield. I wouldn’t be surprised if we end up with Grealish and Barrios as our midfield signings. I guess the one I’m holding out hope for is this unnamed German midfielder who could cost around 30mil that the ITK have been talking about who I’m guessing is Wiegl.

Got it, my understanding was that Hughes was also a 10 but I won't claim to be an expert. Just curious as to why the two fees would be so vastly different.
