According to TEAMTalk
God it boggles my mind how a teamtalk story like this has carried so far and wide. Genuinely everything they write is rubbish or a report of a report of a report. Must just be some algorithm which says if Chelsea are linked then link Tottenham with swoop. If Tottenham are linked then link Chelsea with a swoop.

I would have thought that Grealish would be happier to come to us now, than be loaned back to Villa for another season.

Maybe he just doesn't like champions league football? Would you really want to play in the bernabau?

The BBC get paid to put the transfer gossip in their transfer column, and the various media outlets get pretty sniffy if their gossip doesn’t make the cut

Surely Chelsea have ruined their chances with any sane, young English footballer after ruining the career of Barkley and Drinkwater is just one season?

I think they'll always be some young players lured for money and the London lifestyle. Whether stupid, badly advised, thinking they're good enough to make it or whatever.

Yep. All the time the players are being offered an above avg wage and the agents are getting an above avg fee, they will be advised that Chelsea are the best ‘fit’ for them

I think a lot of young players are full of confidence & don’t believe they are not good enough. As someone else mentioned agents don’t help, young players need guidance & advice to remain grounded.

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: You couldn’t make it up. Oh wait a minute...

Mind you I did think it was curious we were having a clear run (other than Leicester)

It's not always about good or not good enough, especially when it comes to Chelsea.
Ross Barkely is good enough for example (when not injured)... it's just that often there are too many players at these clubs, cliques, over paid wages so the incentive to work tha tlittle harder in order to play isn't there. It's about fine margins.

Grealish would but nuts to go to Chelsea purely because no Chelsea Manager in the forseeable future is going to risk youth players. They will want established stars, because as Long as Abramovich is there, it's trophies or bust.

As for Chelsea's overall scheme of buying everyone under 23 and loaning them out to all and sundry, this needs putting to pasture. It's money laundering if you ask me, and does nothing for the players or the market.

Considering how many thought he isn't good enough, I can't wait to see the meltdown if he goes to Chelsea. Although I can't see that happening now.

That said, if he were to. It would be the end of grealish's career. We've seen it so often at Chelsea and City that young talent goes there and is never heard of again until they rock up at Sunderland in 4 years time having played about 6 league Cup games in that time. Would be mad to go there.

One the fee is agreed this should get done quickly. From what I head last week Chelsea aren't in a position to do anything atm.

In the short term that's an OK strategy, but when agents see players like Kane and Dele getting touted as mega targets for the super rich while players like Loftus Cheek are relatively unheard of, a move to Spurs isn't necessarily a lesser goal.
