My brother's 11th birthday.
Massive Cup Semi Final, kicking off at 12pm...
Our church service finished at about 11.30, but would my dad let us leave in time to get home for kick-off?!
Nope - had to wait until everything had been cleared up and put away.
Missed the first two goals.

25 years ago. I was 14. I always remember that it was the craziest I have ever seen my Dad. Went Gazza scored the free kick, he went ballistic ! Happy days. I feel old now !

My kids have similar opinion to when Woodgate scored the winner against Chelsea.
According to them it's the happiest I've ever been.

Remember it like yesterday. 15 years old and still the best day I've ever had as a Spurs fan. Even surpassed the final.

Hopefully my best day as a Spurs will be replaced by May 15th 2016 :).

Was born just over a week after this. Turn 25 on the 23rd. Yet still seen this goal many many times, and have a signed print of it from Gazza hanging up on my wall.

He ruined it adding "own".

e.g That is a "School boy error" not "that is a School boys own error".

Really?

Surely nobody got that reference? Last issue was 1939!

Makes it a bit more bearable if true (y)
I got it... Mind you, I read Ireland's Own and Woman's Own still.

Don't worry fella, so you got it wrong. You know what they say, Schoolboy's own error.

I always remember saying to Mrs Rooster "He ain't gonna beat spunky from there".........then going nuts. Although i was only the semi I always regard that day as the final, yeah we got the cup against forest, but that moment and that day was really what counted.

It was stuff from 'School Boys Own' (http://www.friardale.co.uk/SOL/SOL.htm). A fairytale of sorts.

I think it was actually a mis-reference, in the heat of the moment, to the Boys' Own publications which were popular up until the 60s and which often featured the sort of football hero stories which would later become Roy of the Rovers.

Either way: Gazza and Bazza (Davies) = legends.

25 years crikey!

Remember that as if it was yesterday. The sis' Gooner boyfriend (now my bro in law) stormed out of the room when Linekar made it 2-0 beautiful :p

Still my favourite Spurs goal.
