Funny that Erik Lamela, who was in the Copa America with Argentina during their final game on June 26 in the USA, was included, and the English players, who went home the following day from France, weren't.

He mostly came on as substitute. While the England crew played the majority of englands games

Games at this stage of the (pre) season may not tell us who will start the first league game. Some players need a rest after a summer playing internationals and Poch May want to take a look at others. These sort of tournaments are largely a money making exercise, let's hope we avoid injuries and get some warm up time for a long season to come.

Still seems like ludicrous place to go out to for pre season. No offence to our Aussie mates, but I think the players could do without the epic journey!

I would agree, but Easyjet don't do long haul flights to Australia, and would imagine Levy would agree to pay for business class. So they would get plenty of rest. I also didn't suffer from Jetlag when I flew to Australia, so it depends on the individual. They did the same last year and didn't do too badly. It's a massive opportunity here too, as it's a growing sport here, and also has some very good players that are probably unknown to the European leagues.

Wow really?! Knocked me for six, took me a week to get over it. As did Japan - and I flew business class. Flying west to east is typically awful for jet lag

Is why most get jet lag when they get back from the US not when they go out

Exactly. As I said, ludicrous.

I did only go one way, so could be something to do with it. I did the flight with only a quick stop in S.Korea on the way. It didn't get any sleep on the way, so probably slept enough when I arrived to get back into a normal routine. (y)

I can think of a number of other footballers who might have gone to Australia. Ched Evans, for example.

Looking forward to seeing a lot of the youth players who could be on the brink of making the first team. Especially Winks, Edwards and CCV.

Having gone to the game in Sydney last year , I could not believe the amount of SPURS supporters there are in Australia. It is still on planet Earth you know.
