Simply put. Crouch > VDV = Llorente > Alli

I think the style here is comparable. Whilst i'd say Crouch had a bit more control in his play, Alli could easily play off a big man - his movement is excellent and he runs onto things brilliantly. Could be a good plan B if we're without Kane for a (hopefully short) period of time.

Unfortunately it's more likely to be bad new for us that he's injured the other ankle. Because he's done the ligaments on the right ankle a few times they get stretched out and it's harder to tear them, whereas a completely new injury is more likely to be torn, which would be obviously a much longer period out.

Such a shame if injured as his hold up play was starting to look like it was back to its best in recent games. Hopefully nothing serious

I dont think we should be buying anyone in January - lets be honest we buy someone in and it wont be until next year that we get to see them fully integrate into the team. So no point. I also dont think we should be selling anyone and we stick with what we have.

I think we definitely need to rejig the squad in the summer however and i think we need a few really good players, not just some dude from the championship, but to take us to the other level. We basically need to take a leaf out of Liverscums book unfortunately.

Pearce and Dan KP have both tweeted that Kane's scan will be later in the week once the swelling dies down. I assume that rules out all possibility of him being available for Chelsea 2nd leg.

Dan said the players have 2 days off but Kane came in for assessment/treatment.

I'd imagine this info originated from the club. 4 week recovery would mean around Dortmund, 6 weeks for Chelsea (A) / NLD :nailbiting:

We've got alot of diagnosis on Harry's injury on here from people who have no clue on the extent of his injury or indeed injuries in general.

Its abit like when the new stadium will be ready.....nobody has a fucking clue .

fingers crossed the swelling will go down and reveal no injury, ffs lets be positive.

I don't think you need to be a doctor to know that when you can't take a scan for several days to let the swelling go down - its not a good sign.

If we end up playing Llorente we need to switch to a back 3 so that our WBs can get crosses into the box. I think he'd pair up well with Alli as well but we'd obviously miss out on the pressing from the front.

Given our lack of CM's that might well have to be the case anyway.

Agreed, it’s classic cathartic doom mongering so if the worst happens people can console themselves that they were right (see your stadium example) or prepare themselves for the worst.

I was at the game high up in the upper tier and didn’t see the incident other than in real time but even if I was the best physio in the world and re-watched it in super slow mo I would not be able to diagnose it then and there. So how people here are doing so is a mystery. It’s surely about the level of internal damage which could be anything from bruising to ligament damage but which only a scan will reveal.

Worst case scenario, he’s out for the season. Shit happens and it would be difficult to maintain our top 4 status much less title/cup runs but let’s worry about something when it happens and not what an untrained person think might happen.

Down to the bare bones for the Fulham game , in theory should be the ideal sort of game to start Llorente . Let's go with a back three we have a choice of Davidson Jan Toby & Juan, wing backs no problem we have Ben , Danny , Serge , Keiran and Kyle, for midfield we have the choice of Winksy, Skippy but Dele has played a deeper midfield role before then up front Erik, Llorente & Christian . Hopefully Lucas will be fit to give another choice but the bench is going to look pretty sparse of any attacking players.

It’s hardly bare bones if Dier and Moura are back which is likely. We will probably have 4 missing which has been pretty standard all season. Obviously being Kane and Son is a blow but will still be a very decent team.

The CM is still bare bones even if Dier is back -- we'd still be in the position of needing to play him and Winks in every match, with rotation being impossible other than for early-round cup ties where Skipp can be brought in. That's exactly the situation which led to Sissoko picking up a muscle injury. It's completely unsustainable.

If he’s out for a while then he’s out for a while. We all moan and whinge when opposition fans say we’d be fucked without Kane, but as soon as he limps off we are all shitting ourselves.

Let’s trust the team, and trust Poch to have the nous to change the way we play if needs be. This could be Llorente’s chance to step up, or even a youngster who hasn’t so far had a look in. I remember when Harry Kane stood up to be counted once upon a time.

I trust Poch and the team but he needs more resources. That's the part I don't trust.
