Both look like they have been out training from the photos on Twitter! Hope they have a chance for the Fulham game.

Said this on Saturday; not buying anyone might not be ideal but it gives a massive incentive to players like Lamela, Winks and Moura to really scrap to be part of the starting xi. It also says to Dier he has a significant opportunity to develop his game as a CDM, with Victor out for a while

It does, but Winks has had two ankle ops and it could take him quite a while to get back to where he was before.

As for Dier, I love the guys attitude but I remain unconvinced by him in midfield.

I know, a lot of ifs ands. But Dier was an absolute essential to us in the second half of the 2015-16 season in the CDM role. I hope he really pushes on this season. He’s a tough fucker so hopefully the responsibility will elevate him

Yeah his mentality is his main strength.

I love Dier and he truly was immense that season next to Dembele. But we've had two full seasons since then, and for me there have only been a handful of games where he's shown anything like that 15/16 form in the DM role. I'm starting to wonder if that year was the anomaly rather than the norm, and if it wasn't boosted by Dembele playing like an absolute monster next to him.

Can't wait for Wanyama to start ball work and Son to come back, the squad will look so strong. Never thought I'd feel so optimistic regarding our squad and options after a summer of no incomings to be honest. Helps that Lucas, Winks and Wanyama will all feel similar to new additions.

Any news on Lamela? I didn’t even realise he got injured during the warm-up until now, I’m hoping it was just a tight hamstring rather than anything else.

Yep, have to agree. Hope nothing serious.

These little tweaks here and there are actually quite a common occurrence when players return from lengthy lay off.
