Can't run.

Can't Tackle(and bottles out of them).

Poor Workrate.

Can't even turn.

Strolls around the pitch like he's a footballing God.

Passing ability is overrated. I've noticed that his passing range range is very limited. All he can do are long distance passes to the wing or chipped balls over the defence. You very rarely see him play eye of a needle passes...or passes forward ALONG THE GROUND......players like carrick and Fabregas do it for fun. Huddlestone doesn't seem to be able to do it.

Im not basing this on tonights match. He was like this against Villa and boro aswell.

i think if huddlestone can progress and improve in certain areas then in 2 or 3 years he might possibly be in the carrick class, he is never going to be a world beater but might be valued as top class, you mention fabregas so seems its you who over rate him i wouldnt mention him in the same breath,

He needs to LOSE WEIGHT (i don;t care if it is all muscle)

The best people are like Gerrard and Vierra BEANPOLES. Not Lomu's.

I despair. DESPAIR for our coaching.

One word answer:

Defoe.

I think Huddlestone has been over-rated by a lot of Spurs fans in the past, but has developed a lot since then, although he's going through a bit of a bad spell now. I think he can become a very good player, but he's still got a very long way to go yet.

What a load of toss!!!

Firstly I don't think there is anything wrong with his work rate. I seem to remember some supporters saying the same thing about Carrick when he was with Spurs. He became a World Beater since he left apparently.

Your comments about his passing don't even make sense. What you're basically saying is, he is good at sending long, accurate cross field balls. I would say those are the hardest. As for threading through the eye of a needle passes, I guess you must look back at last year and get some memories jogged then.

I don;t think he's overrated in general. He's a good young player for us and is one of our best creative outlets, people expect too much & expect him to be carrick level asap. Carrick was 25 before he was even remotely good (I thought he was average when he left West Ham) Huddlestone is still 20 for fuck sake.

I will answer that. I believe it was huddlestone's corner for Berbatov's goal on monday night.

I am not talking about taking a bloody corner Nidgeous, I am talking about 'open' play, that's what a creative (and read this next word) footballer does.

He conjures. He changes games. He does things with a football that are unpredictable to the opposition.

Look at this, great example.

I do know that and my answer was slightly tongue in cheek.

But then again it isn't very often we score from corners so at least that cover the unpredictable to the opposition bit

I think .. You need to watch our games against Derby, Man Utd, Fulham, Arsenal again ...

not good enough as the rest of our midfield. we could've had riquelme and petrov, instead we ended with bent & the old crappy midfield.

Instead of these constant threads singling out individuals as over-rated can we start one big thread stating that despite the fact that virtually our entire team is either a full international or an U21 and most have been a big part of our team finishing 5th twice they are all useless?

I am a big fan of Huddlestone and think he is good player, he can get better and hopefully he will. His passing range is v. good and is probably our most creative player, he isn't the finished article but i wouldn't say he is overrated.
