How will Harry fund our summer transfers?

Daniel Levy has intimated that Harry needs to offload players before he can buy new ones.
Harry has said that he wants to bring in 2/3 players in the summer, which in Harrys world probably means 5/6.

Who will he sell AND for how much?

Who will be in the market and able to afford these players?

Bear in mind that a team as big as Liverpool have stated that they will need to sell before they can buy a few cheap options.

He said the same in January though. I think he'll offload a few, but only the likes of Gilberto, Boeteng and Rocha. And i think we'll spend about £20m on a few players. i think Harry will sniff around a couple of relegated teams for players aswell.

I don't see those guys generating a lot of cash but you are probably right in saying that Levy will throw some dosh into the transfer kitty.

He's said 'one or two' and I hope he sticks to that. Just because he has a well-deserved reputation for enjoying his wheeling and dealing doesn't mean he will indulge in it just for the sake of it.

No he hasn't. As far as I'm aware Levy hasn't given an interview since the stadium plans were announced.

There will be a good £20-40m budget set aside for transfer expenditure over the summer, depending on the players available. I just hope we buy two c.£15m players with it, rather than attempting to rebuild the whole squad again.

I think Bent will be the only significant sale this coming window.

Personally I'd like to see Gilberto, Rocha, Boateng and Chimbonda released too.

Hopefully Levy and Redknapp have realised this by now. If we had done this a while ago we would be lot better off for it now.

My guess is we will sell the following players and these are the possible teams to buy them;

David Bentley - £12million to Man City.
Adel Taarabt - £4 million to QPR.
Chris Gunter - £2 million to Forest.
Alan Hutton - £5/6 million to Sunderland.
Jamie O'Hara - £5 million to Fulham.
Gio Dos Santos - £5 million to Seville/Spain.
Kevin Boateng - £3 million to Dortmund.

That gives a total fund of approx £36 million - add in the money from Levy and we could have a £50 million transfer kitty for Harry.

There is also the likes of Zokora and Huddlestone who have both said recently that they will leave if they don't get first team opportunities.
I wouldn't really want to see them go but if they did I reckon they would both be valued at around £8 million each.

I can see Harry sticking with the 4 strikers that he has now to see how the partnerships develop.
Probably give them until January to prove themselves.

And wouldn't we all? Luckily, we don't have a 'world-class' manager in charge this time round. Let's just make sure they're the right £15m players.

Selling our most effective league goalscorer by a country mile would, of course, be a touch of true genius.

Thats the biggest problem!

If Harry can get that right he will be hailed a genius!

What I would want to happen, would cause to much reaction so I'm just going to enjoy watching the names getting branded about.

Come on now, don't be like that - it generates discussion and sometimes you have to stick your neck out.

i think we can generate some cash by selling zokora, bently, bent and chimbonda, and also decrease the wage bill by releasing rocha and anyone else i've forgottne about becasue they havent played for so long.

i reckon about 20 - 25m for that lot.

i'd spend most of it on a new striker (a target man), as well as a "squad" LW such as downing (no real improvement on bently but gives the squad much more balance as i'm sure modric can play either side) and a backup DM, as we need cover for palacios and the squad is also missing a proper specialist DM, again to give it balance and tactical options.

the only other purchase i would consider is maybe a young, pacy centre back who can also play LB, just to give extra cover, and again, balance out the squad.
