Great news, you can only wonder what, if any input they may have had at the players new lodging facilities.

I use hotels.com a lot. I always get claims of 50% plus an additional 10% off. Then it turns out it’s for one hotel in Grimsby, overlooking the fish factory, on a Wednesday night with the 10% applying ONLY if it snows.

It's a funny thing with booking sites. I search a destination for places I like then call direct and get a better price. Like a reverse internet.

I work with Hotels.com a lot on the Tech side. (Well. Expedia)

They’re shockingly dishonest on their presentation/ specials/ discounts/ etc. Shocking. No idea how they get away with it tbh.

Often downright lies on subjects such as cancellation policies & amenities. And it’s deeply programmed into their systems. (there’s only one worse and that’s airbnb, which is a whole other level. Those guys need investigating & prosecuting for their business practices IMO. Pure premeditated larceny)

The good one is Booking.com. That’s a good straight organisation. TripAdvisor are also straight up - but so fucking useless as an organisation that it hurts ?

Everyone should do this

Expedia (hotels.com) - 28% (+ normally another 10 that they hide & bully the establishment into with downgrade threats)
Airbnb - 14% plus up to another 8 on hidden charges in double exchange rate gouging (they pretend it’s 4% and hide the rest)
Booking.com - 16%
TripAdvisor - 14%

Agoda 18%

Always check prices then call Hotel...Most will give you a discount why give these OTA companies up to 26% ..

In some cases Hotels will give even more than this %. To climb up the Pages, if you can get your Hotel to page 1 of the area being searched then you will be Read. Spotted and have more chance of being booked..Even if you are loosing more money to these OTA sites.. Hotels will do it.

All OTA companies unfortunately have become a parasite to the business..

But we can't live without them now.. F..ers
