I agree with your point regarding who decided to purchase this player but the player did himself no favours with a lack of application during some matches.

I'm not normally one of these fickle fans, but the bloke was happy just to collect his large wage and didn't have enough integrity to put a real effort it. He is expected at the very least to put in 100% which he certainly did not. It is an insult to the fans and the coaching staff.
