Interesting article this, of which I am torn...

Guy has had a lot of injuries, spending a quarter of his career on the sidelines...

But when the man is fit, he is absolute quality, and has a good track record of scoring goals, plus 30 national caps etc..

He has been impressing Ferguson at Carrington recently, which is no easy feat, however Utd are stacked up front, so makes no sense to sign him.

IF (and a big if) Rossi can prove he is fit, hungry, and raring to go, I would offer him a 6 month deal, with an option of a further year, depending how he plays, but looking at Nasri at Whu, these types of deals could be beneficial to us. Son will be back in 3-4 weeks, and gives us an option till the end of the season, where hopefully in that time we can tie up a deal for Werner or someone else.

Rumours of a £50m budget for Poch in Jan...if we can bring Rossi in for nothing, and invest the money into midfield quality, it ticks a lot of boxes for me...

Thoughts?

My only thought is, to quote Robin Williams in Jumanji:

WHAT YEAR IS IT?

Imagine using a non-HG slot on him. If we weren’t having HG issues, I’d be like “sure, novelty wise it’s perfect and he’s talented” but now I just don’t know guys.

Is there any player jj has hinted we may be in for?? He’s more negative than the menopausal mother in law

Some of his better moments in La Liga...

Discounting the pace aspect, which hey may not have that extra yard, you have to say his technique, finnesse and his positioning in and around the box is brilliant, you don’t lose that.

Look, I know it would be like Saha Mk 2, but, we are in need of an emergency forward in Kane and Sonny’s absence, and the guy is available for nothing, so what is there to lose??
Even Saha scored 4 in 12, If Rossi can do the same, score 5-10 in the second half of the season, he could bag some vital points for us...which could seal champions league for next season, allowing us to pursue the Werner’s of the world...

Centre Midfield is of higher priority in my opinion...if we are to spend money in the window, I would rather it was there, secure a quality player hopefully, and then a less expensive option up top, where we will have Son back in a few weeks.

We would all love a shiny new CM and a shiny new FW...but this is January, this is Daniel Levy, so this is not gonna happen

Actually there is a good chance he would be considered as homegrown as it looks like he played for 3 years in UK before turning 21, opposite to Dier.

Apart from that I don't think he offers anything Janssen wouldn't.

There’s a part of me which would like to see this as I’ve always rooted for the guy (despite his spurning of the US), and would relish the novelty of seeing him at Spurs. However, I could see this player really struggling in the Prem, and I absolutely wouldn’t relish holding my breath every time he was touched by another player.

In four years he was at fiorentina, he played 33 games. His best days were at villareal. Considering our injuries at the minute this would be baffling indeed given his injury record.
