There is no way that Lo Celso could have done much today given his positional duty was to play reasonably central against a bank of defenders for a team he barely knows. Today’s game was crying out for a wide forward, able to beat his man and wreak havoc in the Newcastle area

Such players don’t seem to exist in poch’s Idea of football it seems sadly

It’s way too early to judge him yet, but he had zero effect on the game this afternoon which was very disappointing. He wasn’t alone in that, but I didn’t see anything from him that Lamela wasn’t already offering when Poch took him off.
He didn't do anything mind blowing but I think you're being a bit harsh. It was his clever flick that put Kane through for what should have been the penalty, which was more inventive than anything Lamela tried all afternoon. I also liked that he was trying to find spaces between the defensive lines but no-one was passing it to him when he took up those positions.

I would've liked to have seen him take a few more risks, though. He looked like he was playing within himself.

As I said in the transfer thread when we signed (loaned) him, I'm not convinced about Lo Celsos potential. But it's harsh to judge him in a malfunctioning team. It's been a shitshow in the league for a long time now. If established players like Kane, Lamela and Son look like shit, you can't ask for a new guy to tear it up in a 30 min cameo. Honestly, I think Messi would like shit in our shirt. I still hope I'm wrong about him. And I will also wait to judge him. It's not fair to judge him when we play like this.

Guy is very top quality. I can’t stress this enough. He can open teams up with his ability, and that bit of magic you need. He just needs to have his wand with this lot.

Just needs some time, not going to judge him off that, the pass to Kane was nice and quick. Something we needed all day.

I don’t care if this isn’t irony, it deserves a funny rating
Poch's own words, tbh he'd have had to rock up to training looking like Elvis circa 5 minutes before dying on the shitter to look that far off being capable of playing at the current Spurs performance level.

Definitely was playing within himself, looked like he first and foremost didn't want to give the ball away, which is fine at this stage really.

Poch said befoe the game he needs more time that was clear from yesterday. Remember we signed Moura and he appeared average against premier league teams. I think Lo Celso wont come good until Dec/Jan

and that is if he is involved more frequently.

Lo Celsos will open up teams i think we will see a big performance from him vs arsenal dont be surprised if he puts kane in a couple of times..He did it vs newcastle with little room vs teams like arsenal open spaces he could be a nightmare to handle

He looks scared in every picture I've seen of him so it's probably the whole situation. Move to England, huge expectations from fans, new system, new language. Don't think we'll see the best of him for a while.

Read that as he was definitely playing with himself lol.

He grew into the game I thought and he had a shot and played a quick disguised pass into the box for Kane to run onto and should have been a penalty, now you may not think that is much but I'd argue it's more than any other sod did.
