A suggestion from ITK has been a change of formation. So 4231 may no longer be our formation of choice. Assuming it’s 433

Dier, Sissoko, Winks, Ndombele, Lo Celso and Eriksen for midfield 3.
Lamela, Moura, Alli, Son, Kane for forward 3.
Chances of having 11 fit and available at any one time, nil. So you’ll have a starting 6, with another 3(ish) on the bench, meaning only two miss out. But what an option it would be when playing the bigger sides to look at the bench and see game changers that match what they have to bring on.

I’d be over the moon if we added Lo Celso and Sessegnon this week, think added to Ndombele that would take our squad up to the next level from last season, however, if we then lose any of Alderweireld, Rose or Eriksen without replacing them also, we’ll just be back to square one, strengthened in one area but weakened in others. I don’t see losing Trippier as so critical, because we still have Aurier, KWP and Foyth is showing as a decent alternative.
I like Sessegnon long term, but is he really ready to step straight into LB now if seen as Rose’s replacement? I think not. Another season with Rose here allowing Sessegnon to grow into the role, and maybe then we’re about right. Equally if Rose goes, bringing in another LB, with Davies being seen as LCB cover still keeps the right level of depth and opportunity for development.
One area left is the forward areas, losing Llorente leaves us a player might, hoping for another forward in the Son mould, someone who can play up top as a goal threat but equally out on wider areas to ensure they are getting regular minutes to stay sharp when Kane is playing.
That’s a big ask admittedly, and a lot of cash outlay to bring all those in, so maybe a project forward, or some kind of miracle loan deal for Bale that limits intial outlay.
This is spot on for me.

I'd go

LoCelso Kane Son up top
Midfield: Eriksen NDombele with Winks collecting.

Massively assuming we get this signing made. Twitter posts seemingly moving in the right direction though.

At this point we hope Levy is going all the way for this season but is he? To get everything is a mega commitment, are we doing all this, this season or maybe some, next?

Agree but I personally feel that Troy Parrott is going to step into that backup striker role, if we have the scenario that Sonny and Kane are both out.

Haven.t we already had ITK, that says parrot is no way neae ready for the first team yet? think dov whored it?

Remember DL's statement at the end of last season?

"It's time to believe..."

I think he meant it.

The proof will be in the buying of Lo Celso without selling Eriksen. As they would have been a lot of money forked out on two players. Then I can see him doing the rest too, backs etc. I mean even if Eriksen went next year that still would be a huge commitment and a statement of intent to push us up another level

Yep, had the same thought this morning. Can live with no addition at RB if theres a limited budget, but if Rose goes we really should look hard at LB replacements. Best to give Sessegnon a season to settle in than be thrown in the deep end.

Quite a few of our young potential academy kids we are aiming to loan out to the right clubs. This pre-season is key for Troy Parrot, as he may become integral part of first team squad.

The problem with playing Lo Celso and NDombele together, is that I don't think Lo Celso is going to be particularly effective covering defensively when NDombele rampages forward.

And to be honest, we probably won't want him to do that anyway as we'd want Lo Celso further up the pitch.
You have obviously never seen Lo Celso play

Anyone starting to think that we may set up without a focal point of Kane?

Dare I say it, but last year our play was often better without him and a mix of others leading a flexible line.

These additions, with CE staying, would provide even more variation to play

Add Skipp, then count Eriksen in the forward three, and we have 12 players covering 12 positions.

We can spare Wanyama with Winks, Lo Celso and Skipp all being able to play DM aswell as Dier.

Of course yes, the narrative started by some journos and rival fans to undermine Kane is still around

How does the thought even enter people’s minds that somehow a team is worse by starting the best striker in the world?

He's not saying Kane being dropped he's talking about him being the focal point. Everything basically went through Kane, not Eriksen, for the last few years
