Ally gold has said we wont pay more than ndombele fee...so that ends lo celso coming
from everything we’ve been told by Herc we are the high bidder. They can’t afford to keep him (wages increased when bid was presented). If we remain the high bidder they will have no choice but to accept.

Wait them out, I doubt anyone else will come in for him and outbid us. They will want the funds to reinvest in their squad. Focus on getting Ceballos done and make them sweat even more.

Or maybe keep him and hope he has an even better season.? Why do you think they have to sell him? Just because he gets a pay rise?

Haven't they already turned down a £52m offer from us?
Idk, but I didn't think anything was going to happen after the Copa America. They probably wanted to see if anything better came in over that time and it hasn't so this will start to get wrapped up. Just my take on things.

If we're telling them our cap is the Ndombele deal and they haven't had anything better come in I don't think they can turn that down.

I don’t think Betis are in the business of turning down 50mil+ offers.
We've had this discussion loads of times. Maybe it makes Betis more likely to panic when money is on table, but teams aren't selling their players based upon previous sale prices.

The market has drastically changed. They will sell the player for what they think hes worth. The price certainly won't be dictated by some other transfer.

If a team bids 120mil for Kane, do we have to accept it because its the biggest sale in our history. Nope.

I agree, but the money that Premier League clubs make is drastic from a club like Betis. Thats a massive figure for them.

Given that there is that rumoured clause in his contract that he gets a pay rise if a bid is rejected, I would guess that there is either no “formal” offer yet or no “formal” rejection. I’d expect there are just ongoing discussions around a fee. I feel pretty confident that we’ll get this done for a reasonable fee for everyone.

I’d be surprised if a fee in the region of 60 million doesn’t get this done. You could argue that Ndombele’s rise in prominence is at least, if not more, equal to Lo Celso, while Lyon are a wealthier club

I thought the pay rise was linked to the buy out clause fee not just any bid, and Real Betis knew of the interest when they bought him and almost certainly bought him to sell and make money.

I’d be shocked if they kept him if an offer comes in at around 60 million. He also wants to move to us. Betis are probably holding out for another offer to generate a bidding scenario but the ITK confidence (relatively speaking) around this makes me think this will go our way.

I think the real saga of the summer will be the Eriksen to Real/ acquisition of replacement scenario

Really? Sounds like a silly clause.

If Poch wants this guy, it will get done.

It's simply based on the ITK & my growing belief in Levy being committed to getting the players that Poch wants this summer.
