It feels like Ndombele should be a more expensive player than Lo Celso though, feels like a higher calibre player IMO. But whatever, if Poch has earmarked him we should go all out.

Totally agree - proven performances against elite teams in the CL vs one good season in La Liga.

Should be in the £40-50m bracket IMO

This is not a risk less signing and his resale value would be quickly impaired if he doesn’t do well for us vs Ndombeles would IMO as much as I would like him

I think the argument you would get is that world class potential attacking players are worth more than world class potential, non goal scoring midfielders.

Value, yes. But when you consider that PSG has a clause on his profit it does change the situation, whether we like it or not. He will likely be a player we will have to pay beyond our evaluation to get (similar to Liverpool with VVD).

His first 10 mins of the tournament were great, He was subbed on vs Brazil but the match seemed to be at a pace where it was hard for him to get amongst it, I think he suffered from argentina decided that absolutely every attack needs to go through Messi.
Not his 1st ten minutes as he played in other matches including a full not 90 mins against Venezuela in the same tournament.

I didn't catch the other games other than highlights tbf was just assessing on the two games I saw.

Betis Web has mentioned Ceballos as a potential replacement for Celso (he came from Betis). If they can afford him or not, who knows. It's quite a poker hand to be able to control the destiny of their primary replacement too when involved in negotiations with them, if indeed Ceballos prefers us.

Is that what we refer to...a pocket of Aces?

PSG's sell-on clause may cause Betis to set a higher price than it would without the clause, but it is not going to change our evaluation of GLC, i.e. the amount we are willing to pay. If I think a house is worth 300k, but the seller says "pay me 400k because I want to make a large profit" I'm going to walk away and buy a different house worth 300k. If I pay the 400k, I've either determined that the house is actually worth 400k, or I am an idiot.

I really hope this is the case. It just seems bat shit mental for us to spend a potential 120m on two players with no money coming in through player sales.
I would be staggered if we shelled out approx £120m without knowing we’d at least make a large chunk of that back through outgoings?
We spent the last two windows bemoaning the fact that Daniel wouldn't buy unless we sell. Now due to his prudent financial gymnastics he is able to accumulate funds where he is now willing to deliver by buying the players that Poch wants, (without having to sell yet) and you still moan?!

At no point was I moaning. I'm just not expecting us to spend around 120m with no money coming in through sales, however, I hope I'm wrong.

Not sure how my post equates to moaning? It was a direct response to whether signing Ndombele and Lo Celso would mean the likelihood of Eriksen leaving before the end of the window.

Also Betis are historically a mid-table club and were relegated a couple seasons ago. They can play hardball and I'm sure they are also none to thrilled about PSG having a 25% sell-on fee, but if Lo Celso wants to go there is no way they can turn down a bid in the 60m range.

Copa America finishes this weekend, if this is a goer, my guess is we finish this up next week and then Lo Celso goes on post-Copa holiday and joins up to play in the Audi Cup after the squad gets back from China.

Why can't they turn it down?
