Betis is heavily linked to two transfers that would break their record signing, I think they are still preparing to sell GLC even if they are playing hardball right now.

Ndombele, Lo Celso, Eriksen and Lamela allows us to match up with City and De Bruyne, Silva, Bernardo and Foden.

Lucas, Alli and Son match up with Mahrez, Sane and Sterling too.

Therefore we SHOULD have quality rotation and strength to compete. Not saying it's enough to win but the thought of those attacking options gives a lot of positivity.

Absolutely. That’s why I’m saying if Levy is serious about giving Poch the tools to compete, we should be looking at buying both Ndombele and GLC. Then, any other incomings are dependent on outgoings etc like replacing trippier and Toby

Ndombele and him would make me really happy.

So looking forward to seeing him in our colours. Supposedly everything seems so positive. Hope Betis can blink first..

what you think they got a agent for?
I highly doubt GLC, or any player for that matter, would entertain transfer talk during a major international tournament. You see players constantly saying they don’t need the distraction of transfer/contract talks during the season because that’s what it is, a distraction.

I think it’s a very valid point that this has gone quiet because of the Copa America.

Again, that’s what they have agents for, they’ll be doing all the work so the player doesn’t have to get distracted.

Whether the player is involved in the discussions or not, the decision to move country is an enormous one which any of us would need to put some serious thought into. It’s not as simple as you’re making it out to be, and it’s very naive to suggest it isn’t a distraction for players. This is a person’s life we’re talking about.

I sincerely hope we are trying to sign GLC regardless, which Herc's latest ITK has indicated.

Eriksen is simply not enough to reply on throughout a tough long season. When he isn't on his game, which happens far more than many like to admit, our creativity is terrible.

If we are looking to properly go for it, we need GLC AND Ndombele.

If we think about it, our priority areas are CM, ACM and RB.

If Ndombele costs circa 60 mill, are we seriously saying we don't have the funds to sign another player in a priority area for another circa 60 million? Our transfer budget must be about 150 million by now before we then have to start spending what we make from player sales /balancing the books.

We've haven't spent a penny in 18 months, which is why I believe we can make two major signings in GLC and Ndombele this summer.

I honestly do not believe that signing purely Ndombele (if it happens) as our sole major acquisition this window is enough to satisfy Poch's ambition. it would be pretty lame if you ask me, and not a statement of intent for next season.

But sign the two of them and keep Eriksen, and we are cooking.
I hope you're right.

I do believe we get another creator, I just think it'll be a cheaper one (not talking pennies, but nearer 35-40 at a hunch).

I’m talking in simple terms, I doubt agents stop negotiating & speaking to clubs while the player is at a tournament.

Agents are at the mercy of their players, most are, anyway. To simply say him playing in the Copa America has absolutely nothing to do with the lack of updates on this is so naive. Of course it’s a plausible reason. How do you know Real Betis haven’t told us they won’t discuss it further until Argentina’s involvement in the tournament has concluded?

so you don't think the player wouldn't prefer to be somewhere else more relaxed when he is sold. they still have newspapers and the internet when staying in their hotel. I'm sure he himself would prefer to be around when it gets announced

I’m talking about the beginning stages of a transfer, discussions between agents and two clubs etc. Not completing the deal while he’s there, he’s not going to sign the contract via WhatsApp in his hotel is he.

well he knows we are interested in him, it's just a case of both clubs agreeing a fee, but it has gone quiet most probably because he is on internation duty, which @SargeantMeatCurtains said

I’m not sure if it’s still the case but Spanish clubs can only spend a % of what the earn, therefore if the bring in peanuts then they can’t make big money signings. If this is still the case then they must expect GLC to be leaving.

I have to admit I’ve never actually seen Lo Celso play, so I’m not gonna kick off if the club don’t sanction £70M to sign a player I know little about, but I am a bit concerned if we don’t sign him as no one else seems to be on the list in his position that we know of.

I think even if we keep Eriksen, which still seems to be unknown at the minute, we still need to strengthen there as without Eriksen we have no one in that mould and Dele didn’t look the same player last year. Our attack could do with a freshen up imo as the only player good enough to start imo are Kane, Son, Eriksen, Alli and Lucas and the latter 4 are class on their day but do blow hot and cold throughout the season so I think it’s important we find someone who can either step up when they’re out of form or can push them to stay on top of their game knowing there’s a quality player who could take their place in the starting 11

I have a feeling the 20% profit to PSG is effecting that number quite a bit.

Exactly this, PSG cleverly added this sell on clause, lots of younger players with great ability right now in addition to future potential but cant get into their clubs first 11 (mostly a bigger clubs) nowerdays are having these inserted, hence why Zaha is so expensive.

Yes - the sell on also reflects that the buying club originally bought the player for a relatively low fee below his potential value

If Betis has bought him for £40m themselves there clearly wouldnt have a sell on fee

Zaha is expensive due to the sell on and because he is there best player that’s at times single handedly kept them in the division

I wonder if the links to Elmas today have been leaked by the club to prompt Betis. If it looks like we’re moving to another target, will they be forced to deal at our price. Obviously they have the option of just keeping him, but that writes off a chunk of quick easy profit that could have been reinvested.
